Sunday Opportunities Poinsettias Have you ordered poinsettias to remember a loved one or honor someone special in your life? Time is running out. We will decorate the chancel for Christmas. The traditional envelopes are located in the hallway and forms are available in the Attendance pad in the sanctuary. Poinsettias are $10 each. Kids Against Hunger SJA Packing Events Up coming volunteer opportunities with KAH - packing events: Thursday, December 15th - GILBERT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL In Irving - We will meet at SJA parking lot at 7:00 a.m. Monday, January 16th (MLK Day) - FIRST UMC GRAPEVINE We will meet at SJA parking lot at 7:30 a.m. Upward Sports Early Registration Begins for Upward Soccer Early registration for your child to play Upward Soccer starts December 1 and ends January 28. Early registration is $65 after that it is $75 per child. You can register either by picking up a brochure in the church hallway and turn it into the church office or you can register online. Click here to access the online form. This is open to boys and girls ages 4 years through 6th grade. Volunteer and Make Upward Soccer a Success! We need volunteers to make this season a great success. The 2016 season for Upward Soccer will be here before you know it. Sign up at the Upwards Soccer display table in the SJA hallway or email Jerry Dickey at [email protected]. (No experience necessary - will train where needed.) During the next three Sundays, we will collect gifts for the homeless and distribute them to various local charities. Please bring items wrapped in plain white paper to SJA. See your December Monthly Newsletter to find out more about the tradition of White Gift Sunday. Look for information in the friendship hall. Counters Needed! Can you count money? Can you write out a deposit slip? Can you keep personal information to yourself? If so, you are just the person we are looking for! We are in need of individuals who would be willing to count the Sunday offerings. This can be done during the 11:00 am service or after the 11:00 am service. Counters work in teams of 2 and are assigned duty about every 8 weeks. Counters count the offering, make sure the monies received balance with the amount written on the counters' report, and prepare the bank deposit. If you are willing to serve as a counter or would like more information, contact Barbara Wood at 817-907-4565 or [email protected].
