In Central and Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia, national developmental indicators can appear quite good – but national averages can mask significant disparities between those who have and those who have not.

compared to other regions and access to services continues to improve.

Other Examples of Statistical Systems Strengthening Efforts in the Region:

• Collaboration with the Washington Group on Disability Statistics and NSOs on the devt and testing of tools and methods for collecting data on people/children with disabilities. (Montenegro, Serbia, Kazakhstan)

• Support to NSS in establishing real-time monitoring systems e.g. Turkey e-EMIS, Romania ISS, Kyrgyzstan e-register etc.

• Support to NSO’s to introduce a deprivation module to their HBS (Azerbaijan & Ukraine)

• Capacity building on ESSPROS (BiH)• Support for additional analysis and dissemination of statistics

(Kyrgystan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Albania, etc.)• TA for surveys and census (Moldova, Georgia)
