message From Board oF direCtors

Founders of Lebara Karan, Leon and Ratheesh

Parshuram Sharma Rajaram

Our visionLebara Foundation started its programme in India with an ambitious and inspiring vision of serving vulnerable and displaced children with nutritious food, shelter, health care and education. As a first step, the needs of these children are being addressed. We take a phased approach to deliver aid and support, focused on their core needs like nutrition, education, health care and other basic living conditions.

Our programmesWe plan our programmes in accordance with our global policy and design the service delivery systems in consultation with the community in need. We have established an effective monitoring system so that whatever we plan translates into action efficiently and effectively. This approach will ensure continuous resource availability for the programmes and increased service access to the community.

Our future planWe plan to set up a residential school for about 1000 to 5000 children. This campus will provide high quality education and residential care to the needy children.

Lebara Foundation believes that the best investments are investments that groom children to be “future ready”. This approach builds competence in children, empowers their families, strengthens their communities and contributes to nation building.

Thank you

Evaluations are conducted on an annual basis. Community based review meetings are one of the key methods adopted for analysing the quality of services. External reviews by experts help in identifying and understanding the shortcomings during the implementation of the project.

Each project site has a project implementation committee which acts as a community monitoring mechanism to ensure quality of services. These committees meet once a month.

We have been working in development sector for many years and we got the opportunity to work with many communities.

In Lebara Child Development Programme, we find that it is very close to the community. Initiatives are planned and implemented based on community needs.

Each day we learn by doing things for the community. We feel like living with community rather than doing it as a job.

Initially we faced many problems in developing trust with the community members. Now after two years we have established good relations with community members and programmes are being implemented smoothly.

We all really enjoy working with children. We feel that this approach will empower future generations.
