COURSE OVERVIEWWorking with children can be a difficult task - it is not always as simple as just keeping them entertained while their parents are at work. Children come from a variety of backgrounds and are at different developmental stages, which means that caretakers need to be aware of this, and need to see to their specific needs. It is important to know which games to play, which learning activities will be most beneficial, what to feed them, and how to deal with behavioural issues. Our Child Day Care: Skills Course builds on our Child Day Care: Proficiency Course to give you a more in-depth understanding of children’s developmental stages, learning capacities, and the social and relational issues they face. This course will help you make decisions in your day care that is helpful to the children in your care, and helpful to growing your business and building trust with their parents.

FIRST AID -SAVE A CHILD
HEALTH, SAFETY &NUTRITION FORYOUNG CHILDREN
This module teaches you the basics of first aid and CPR. You will also learn what to do if an infant or toddler falls unconscious. Learn how to handle medical emergencies like choking, seizures, medical shock, etc. Get the skills needed to treat injury emergencies including burns; head, neck and spine injuries; and broken bones and sprain injuries. You will also learn how to deal with bites and stings, poisoning, and drowning.

Learn about the growth anddevelopment of children of different ages and at different developmental stages. This module also covers and discusses special needs children and the importance of early identification of children who are gifted.
This module teaches you about the different elements and processes of learning, the different approaches to learning, and how the brain is structured and how it functions. It also covers personality and temperament traits, children’s self-awareness, and how to analyse the way children learn.
COMMUNICATINGWITH CHILDREN
Learn the skills and techniques needed to help children deal with their feelings. This module briefly explains how to engage and co-operate with children, and teaches you alternative disciplinary techniques to punishment. It also looks at children’s autonomy and the importance of praise.
