Fast factsProject: Chidlow Hall, Malpas,
Cheshire
Sector: Developer Services
Client: NRI Contracts Ltd
Completed: Mid 2010
Chidlow Hall, two miles from the village of Malpas, was used
as a dairy farm until a few years ago. The original farm house
has been demolished to make way for a new Georgian style
manor house. Two large barns are also being demolished
but being rebuilt on the existing footprint to provide
garages for six vehicles, office space and ancillary guest
accommodation. The manor house will be complemented
by a new leisure centre, full equestrian facilities, a hard court
sports area, sun decking and two ponds.
Both the manor house and leisure centre will be built
using reclaimed Cheshire hand-made brick, new red
sandstone detailing under a Welsh slate roof.
Waldeck specialist engineers were appointed by NRI
Contractors Ltd to produce a sustainable drainage
solution whilst limiting the intrusion into the final
aesthetics of the proposed prestigious building and
surrounding grounds.
Waldeck were able to do this as well as utilising the
storm water outfalls to form complementary features for
the final hard and soft landscaped amenities.
