If so, please join us for the Spring Wing-N-Sing event to benefit the local Victims Resource Center. Each year, the number of reports of victims of domestic crime increase dramatically. Sadly, the needs are greater than the resources for unfortunate victims of violent crime. With your help, we can make a difference. The Victims Resource Center was established in 1974. It has expanded into a nonprofit organization that commits itself to helping all victims of crime, by providing them with immediate and ongoing support from professionals in the community. Zebra Communications, Wilkes University’s student-run public relations agency is organizing the first-ever Spring Wing-N-Sing fundraiser. This event will be held on Monday March 29, from 7:30-10:30pm, in the Henry Student Center ballroom at 84 West South Street in Wilkes-Barre. It is a kickoff event for the VRC’s April events to recognize National Sexual Assault Awareness Month. It is our hope that you can help us accomplish our goal of raising funds and community awareness for our clients by donating any useful materials such as wings, napkins, plates, beverages, or any other item that can be distributed during our event. The Spring Wing-N-Spring event includes a wing tasting competition. In return for your gracious donation, your name of business will be on all promotional materials during our campaign. The “winners” will be included in event publicity. We are also accepting cash donations. The VRC is responsible for educating, advocating, and counseling victims of crime. They provide direct services to victims, prevention and education, programs for the community, and court advocacy.
