CHEVROLET DETROIT GRAND PRIX presented by LearJune 2 - 4, 2017

Race Teams,

We look forward to hosting you in Detroit at the 2017 Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear, June 2-4. We are excited to have you compete at one of the most popular and important events of the year in the Motor City as the Grand Prix is happy to once again help Detroit Start its Summer!Belle Isle Park, located on the Detroit River between Detroit and Windsor, Ontario, will once again host thousands of fans, guests, participants and volunteers as we help showcase the Detroit and Windsor waterfront on a world-wide stage.

The Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear will feature an extensive and diverse on-track lineup in 2017. Headlined by the only doubleheader in the Verizon IndyCar Series – the Chevrolet Dual in Detroit– with two full points-paying races on Saturday and Sunday. We also welcome the return of the preeminent sports car series in America with the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship racing in the Chevrolet Sports Car Classic presented by the Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers on Saturday afternoon. Racing Saturday and Sunday at the Grand Prix are the high-flying SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks. The Trans Am Series is back on Belle Isle with Motor City muscle, racing for championship points on both Saturday and Sunday. We have continued to build on the activities and entertainment off the track in 2017, giving fans a richer and more fulfilling experience at the Grand Prix.

The importance of the Grand Prix to not only Metro Detroit, but to our partners in Windsor, Ontario, Canada cannot be overstated. The event continues to generate millions of dollars for the local economy. Our studies have shown that annually, the Grand Prix creates more than $47 million in spending for the region. In addition to the economic impact, the Grand Prix, a subsidiary of the Downtown Detroit Partnership, has made over $13 million in infrastructure improvements to the island since the event returned in 2007. We will continue to dedicate our efforts to improving Belle Isle, the jewel of the Motor City.

As we begin our preparations to host all of the teams on race weekend, we want to make sure that everything is in order well in advance of your arrival. Enclosed you will find this year’s Team Reference Guide, including team hospitality and motor coach information. Please look this over and let us know if you have any questions. We look forward to receiving your information by the deadlines indicated in the guide.

Thanks again for your participation in the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear and for your attention to the enclosed information. We can’t wait for your return to Belle Isle this summer!

Sincerely,

Michael MontriGeneral Manager, Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear
