Introduction

CHESHTHA is a not-for-profit, non-government, non-sectarian organizationprimarily based at Allahabad, U.P, INDIA. We are trying our best to bring colorsand joy in lives.

Cheshtha is an organization founded by committed, dynamic and likemindedprofessionals from the field of Management, Medicine & Engineering who valuesociety and people who want to work for the benefit of our community. It has thespirit of togetherness, the passion for humanity and the drive for the betterment of human lives. CHESHTHA started its activities in 2009 and is registered underSocieties Registration Act, 1860. But the real drive and force of CHESHTHA is its

hope and belief that together we can make a difference.

The primary aim of CHESHTHA is to work for the betterment of the weakersections of the society. We also take up projects aimed at improving the livesaround us, with emphasis on humanity. Our efforts are focused on ensuring health-care, quality education, and social welfare of the community. It is easy to share avision but it takes more than that to realize and implement it at a grass root level.Some of us might be fortunate enough to be blessed with a good life but It becomesmore meaningful when we do noble activities and give back something to thesociety we live in.

Initiatives & ProjectsCheshtha since its conception has been working towards creating an educated, healthy and joyful society.

I. Cheshtha Fighters

- Free first-aid educational programs in schools and educational Institutions(Covered over 2000 children in and around the Allahabad region)

II. Health programs & awareness campaigns- Free Hepatitis B Vaccinations & awareness regarding the water borne diseases

III. Health checkup camps- Free Pediatric, Dental and other health camps for the underprivileged.

IV. Health is wealth- Active participation in public health programs e.g. Polio Eradication Campaign

V. Rahat Floods- Mobilization of resources & collection of food grains, clothes for flood affected areas(Under the guidance of the Delhi Based NGO Goonj - www.goonj.info )

VI. Anna Daan- Distribution of food grains e.g. rice & pulses to the needy for their daughters wedding

VII. Bhavishya Raksha- Interventional education programs in preparatory schools for the under privileged children.

(In partnership with Salaam Bharat Educational Charitable Trust)

VIII. Vastra Samman- Collection & distribution of old/new clothes for the underpriviledged

The Future Ahead in 2012Our dreams for a better tomorrow

I count each day a little life.With birth and death complete;I cloister it from care and strife

And keep it sane and sweet.

With eager eyes I greet the morning,Exultant as a boy,

Knowing that I am newly bornTo wonder and to joy.

With dreams in our eyes and hard work in our sight, Cheshtha wants to spread colors and joyeveryday in every life that needs it.

Our plans for 2012 include programs for women, children and mother earth.

1. Computer course at Cheshtha Kendra (Vocational Training Instititute)2. A boutique and beauty parlor for the students of Cheshtha Kendra to help the girls stand

on their own feet.3. Cheshtha Bal Kendra A free school for every child, and not only a school but a

sanctuary for the growth of the minds.4. No polythene Yes earth Campaign towards a polythene free society, not only

advocacy but also provision of an alternative like a cheap paper bag.5. Give Blood-Save Life Campaign for blood donations and camps for collection of blood.6. Expansion and continuation of our programs e.g. Bhavishya Raksha, Health is Wealth etc
