Souper Bowl of Caring 2013

The Fayette County Community Action Agency Food Bank desperately needs your help! On Sunday, February 3rd, our church will participate in the FCCAA Food Bank’s

Annual Souper Bowl Program. We are asking each member of the congregation who plans to watch the

Super Bowl on television to donate one dollar for a special collection to support Fayette County Food Banks. If you prefer,

you may participate in Souper Bowl Sunday by donating nonperishable food items. As you watch the game and enjoy your

special Super Bowl recipes, we urge you to take a moment to reflect on your less-fortunate neighbors. The Food Bank serves

the unemployed as well as working families whose income is too small to support their basic needs. Together, we can make sure

Souper Bowl 2013 is our most successful Souper Bowl ever!

2013 Budget Presentation Today, January 27th, during the offertory time, we will have a brief presentation of the budget for this year. We are looking forward to a great

year of ministry for the glory of God.

The PENNY WARS Are Almost Over!

Only a couple more days left to participate in our fundraiser for LIFE 2013 called PENNY WARS. It is a battle of the boys versus the girls to see who can get the most pennies in their jar to raise money for LIFE. To participate, just put as many pennies as

you can in the jar of the boys or the girls (whoever you want to win!). BUT there's a twist - if you want to help the girls win, you can not only give them pennies...you can also put dollar bills

(or other change) in the boys jar (and vice versa). Every penny counts as one point, but all other coins and bills count as

negative points! For example, a nickel would be -5 points for whichever team's jar it is in. We'll be doing this fundraiser till the

end of January, so please keep bringing in those pennies! Thank you so much to all those who have

already given to our fundraiser!!!

SUNDAY MORNING FELLOWSHIP Below is the upcoming schedule of those providing the

refreshments for our Sunday morning fellowship time. If you would like to volunteer on the open dates, please sign up next to the church office. Please also sign up if you are willing to help with

Mahaffey Camp Brochures Now Available! Brochures for the 2013 Mahaffey Youth Camps are available on the welcome table in the foyer.

A schedule of their summer camps is also posted on the church bulletin board. Please feel free to take a

brochure & check out the wonderful camps that Mahaffey offers. There is also a special Mother/

Daughter Getaway retreat at Mahaffey on March 15th-16th designed for tween/teenage girls (ages 10 and

older) and their moms. The retreat focuses on purity, self-esteem, Biblical living, and other issues. There is a separate brochure

New Adult Bible Fellowship Class A new Adult Sunday School Class is meeting to

watch and discuss the Gospel of John video chapter by chapter. The Gospel of John movie is an excellent portrayal of the life of Jesus taken

entirely from the book of John. We encourage you to check out this new class starting at 10:10 AM on Sundays in Room 101/103.

Fasting and Praying for Spiritual Breakthroughs We are nearly at the end of our 21-day Daniel fast. Will you give up something like Facebook for maybe an hour or two a day or doing

something else that takes up your time and spend that time seeking the Lord? Will you intensify that by giving up some food for that

same period? You might even consider a full fast for part or all of that time to seek the Lord in even greater intensity. Let’s make the

beginning of 2013 a time of connecting deeply with the Lord. Allow Him to lead you to a new level of spiritual freedom and power. He longs to do a mighty work in our lives and in and through us as

His church. Let’s be sure to give ourselves fully to Him!
