Packaging Concept
Risk Mitigation
Transfer of risk from client to ABB for coordinating delivery and
design interface of all elements in the package
Simplified Commercial Agreement
Single contract for the entire package, reducing requirements
for multiple commercial agreements
Single Project Manager
Single point of contact to execute the project package
Reduced Client Resources
ABB being responsible for scope of works described above,
reduces client manpower to engineer and manage the project

Conventional Site Built electrification
November, 2016
Challenge makes it difficult
Coordination & product integration issues caused by
multiple contractual parties
Skilled worker for remote area and harsh environment
are rare and more and more expensive
The progress of site work be affected by the bad
whether condition
The site work is not easy to conduct for revamping or
replacement project
Moving power demand requests the power supply to
be mobile
Compliance to local conventions, codes & standards
for export projects
Stringent project specification and requirement for
special application or from high end customer

Modular System
▪ An E-House is a pre-fabricated switchroom product,
containing electrical switch & control gear for control of
industrial plant equipment.
▪ E-Houses are also known as Power-House, LER (Local
Equipment Room), Electrical House or PDC (Power
Distribution Centre).
▪ Typically, the E-House fabrication & electrical equipment
installation occurs offsite and is delivered as fully tested
and operational solution.

E-House Concept
▪ The E-House solution is a
cost effective, risk reduced
alternative to conventional
concrete & brick switchroom
construction
© ABB
| Slide 12
The E-House construction is usually inclusive of the following equipment:
Building base frame & internal / external wall sheeting
HVAC, Fire & Gas equipment
Auxiliary Power & Internal / external lighting
Support posts and stairs / landings
Internal cable reticulation

Electrification Solutions
▪ Typical electrical equipment contained within the E-House
would be :
▪ Medium Voltage Switchgear (IEC & ANSI)
▪ Low Voltage Switchgear (IEC & ANSI)
▪ UPS or battery backup
▪ VF Drives
▪ Fire & Gas Equipment (FIP, VESDA, Gas)
▪ Power Management System (eSI)
▪ Third party products as required by the customer

E-House Solution
▪ Reduced Client Resources
▪ Simplified Commercial Agreement
▪ Single Project Manager
▪ Predictable Delivery & Cost Schedule: As majority of works
are performed off site, client is insulated from local labor
shortages, environmental & industrial relations factors
▪ Reduced Site Activities: Comprehensive FAT can be
performed before delivery reducing site commissioning
requirements as well as health & safety risks
▪ Increased Risk Mitigation : Total integration responsibility to
ABB to engineer/coordinate all aspects of the E-House
scope
