RbHCN 2 is prepared by reaction of RbNH 2 with H 2 CN 2 in liq. ammonia (-78 -50 C). The compound crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group P2 1 2 1 2 1 with Z = 8 as determined by powder XRD.
