The new organozin- cate derivatives Me 4 ZnLi 2 , Me 3 Zn(SCN)Li 2 and Me 3 Zn(CN)Li 2 are prepared in situ and tested towards Hal(or Te)-Zn exchange, intra- and intermolecular ring opening of epoxides, Michael addition and carbozincation reactions. The structure of the zincates is discussed using 1 H NMR/Raman/in situ FTIR spectroscopic and the density-functional theory theoretical studies.
