Amlodipine is a dihydropyridine calcium antagonist that inhibits the movement of calcium ions into vascular smooth muscle cells and cardiac muscle cells, like other calcium channel blockers, amlodipine lowers blood pressure by relaxing arterial smooth muscles, which decreases total peripheral resistance and therefore reduces blood pressure. Amlodipine is used in the management of hypertension and coronary artery disease. It was commercialised by Pfizer until 2007 when generic entered in the market.

Chlortalidone is a diuretic drug used to treat hypertension, originally marketed as Hygroton in the USA. It is described as a thiazide diuretic compared with other medications of the thiazide class, chlortalidone has the longest duration of action but a similar diuretic effect at maximal therapeutic doses. Gatifloxacin is an antibiotic of the fourth-generation fluoroquinolone family, that inhibits the bacterial enzymes DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV. Moxifloxacin is a fourth-generation synthetic fluoroquinolone antibacterial agent developed by Bayer. Nitazoxanide is a synthetic nitrothiazolyl-salicylamide, it is in a class of medications called antiprotozoal agents. Nitazoxanide is used to treat diarrhea in children and adults caused by the protozoa Cryptosporidium or Giardia. Thiamethoxam is an insecticide in the class of neonicotinoids. Neonicotinoids, like nicotine, bind to nicotinic acetylcholine receptors of a cell and trigger a response by that cell.
