April is Testing Month

All 11th, 10th and 9th graders will be involved in State of Michigan testing on Tuesday, April 10. 11th graders will take the SAT while 10th and 9th graders will take the PSAT. Testing for 11th graders will continue, as part of their required Michigan Merit Exam (consisting of three different tests), on Wednesday, April 11 with the Work Keys exam. The third component of junior testing will take place on April 24 with the M-Step exam. Please contact Andrew Neidlinger for additional details ([email protected]) Dual Enrollment

Dual enrollment is an opportunity for students to enroll in a college course while attending high school. Eligible students will earn college credit with CHS paying tuition (excluding books and other materials). If you would like more information regarding dual enrollment, please speak with your counselor.

Advanced Placement Testing

Great news on the AP front: We have 276 students taking 537 AP tests this year! Testing will take place in the month of May. Scores this year will be reported back to the school via an online format so we should have a “quicker” turnaround time reporting scores to parents. Please check the Guidance and Counseling page on the website for a complete listing of testing times/dates. If you have questions, please contact Mr. Murphy: [email protected]

School “Rules”

Reminder of CHS policies concerning tobacco use: Students at CHS shall not use or possess any tobacco products or tobacco look-a-like products at school or any school-related activity. Tobacco products include electronic cigarettes and their cartridges as well as lighters, among other items. The first offense for such a violation is a one-day suspension.

office and has his/her teachers sign it. B. Teachers must initial, indicate approximate grade

and may make comments on the form. C. Student’s parents must sign the form and the

student must return it to the office. D. The office will check the form and may discuss the

vacation with the parents if the vacation may cause
