W E L C O M E MARCH 2012
Dear Martic Families:
Where did February go? That was one of the fastest months in recent history
and the school year is flying by!
PSSA testing is right around the corner (March 13-20) and you can support your child’s test preparation. Please
make sure they eat a good breakfast, get a good night’s sleep each night, and
continue to love and encourage their best effort.
I also wanted to update parents on our
use of technology here at Martic. Teachers and staff members are diligently preparing our children for the 21st century and implementing
technology in the classrooms. They are using the MIMIO almost daily and
discussing books on a Moodle forum just to name a few activities. Ask your child what they have been doing in the
c l a s s r o o m w i t h t e c h n o l o g y .

NOTES FROM THE OFFICE .
CHILD PICK UP SLIPS - We provide “Child Pick-Up Forms” for your use that are available in the office. They may be in duplicate form (send both forms back to the office) and are designed to save you and the office precious time. Please use these forms if your child will NOT be riding the bus home. If your child does not have a note, we are obligated to have your child ride their designated bus home to his/her normally scheduled home stop.
Important Busing Information: As families continue to move into the district and surrounding area we are faced with fuller buses. Because many of our buses are near, or at capacity, we cannot approve students to ride a bus other than the bus to which they are assigned each day. This means that other arrangements must be made for after school if students are attending another student’s home for an event. We provide busing to daycare locations as a courtesy to the parents and only if there is room on a bus that services the alternate location. If there is no room on a bus to accommodate a daycare request, other arrangements must be made. Please keep this in mind for early dismissal days as well.
ALSO
We encourage parents to use one bus in the morning and one in the afternoon. Parents who need to establish a schedule that involves more than one AM and PM bus will be allowed to do so but the schedule may not change week to week. This is one step in clearing up confusion for schools and drivers. We will continue to review possible additional changes for the 2013-2014 school year.
The Science Expo
COMING TO MARTIC SOON!
