The world’s finest timepiece tells more than just time. James Kilburg was a mechanical engineer from Luxembourg who developed his craft and ingenuity according to European tradition. In America, Kilburg devoted his life to creating innovations such as the car cigarette lighter and the first automatic dialing telephone. His crowning achievement, however, came from an idea he had when visiting family back in Luxembourg. His wife Dorothy, who had stayed home, decided to call him one day. The international operator assured Mrs. Kilburg it was daytime in Luxembourg. Unfortunately for Mr. Kilburg and his hosts, it was really 2:00 a.m. That call inspired Kilburg to develop the world’s first accurate global timepiece, and in 1963, Geochron was born. Kilburg, and then his son, ran Geochron until 2007, when it moved to Portland, Oregon, where Geochrons continue to be handcrafted. Today, Geochrons stand as a striking and timeful centerpiece in the homes and offices of international political and business leaders as well as discerning individuals who recognize and appreciate their striking beauty, function and quality. The Geochron® World Clock.

{It also tells the world something about you.}

They have adorned the offices of the world’s largest organizations.

The walls of private yachts and aircraft. The homes of the wealthy. They

are the prized possession of discerning individuals who need to know

more than just the local time.

Handmade in the United States, each Geochron is a moving masterpiece.

It shows you at a glance the current time of the world — every country

and city — within a mesmerizing display of the progression of daylight

around the Earth.

A Geochron is your world view of day and night, the precise time, the

date and day of the week — even the solstices and equinoxes. All without

a single digital component. Each clock is carefully crafted and calibrated

for unparalleled accuracy and precision.

Beautiful, unique, pristine and of the highest quality, a Geochron is

much more than a clock. You’ll be the owner of what the Smithsonian

Institution calls “the last significant contribution in time keeping.”

Map – Each world map is made

using state-of-the-art lithographic

printing designed to ensure the

map’s vibrancy and sharpness for

the lifetime of the clock.

Analemma – Allows you to follow

the track of the sun by degrees of

latitude and its position relative to

the equinoxes and the northern and

southern solstice points.

Day of week band – Find the day

of the week in any region by using

this band along with the map’s

international date line.

Time scale – The “watch” of the

timepiece. As the map rotates, numbers

reveal the corresponding time in each

of 40 time zones.

Minute dial – (Optional) Offers

the time to the minute in any

city in the world.

Terminator line – Displays

true moment of sunrise and

sunset worldwide.

Calendar – More than just a calendar,

this feature allows you to determine

time of sunset/sunrise for any date,

present or future.
