 THE CHARNWOOD MARATHON A 26 and 15 mile event for walkers and runners in North Leicestershire, mainly on footpaths and tracks in a very scenic area. EVENT DETAILS Date: Saturday 24 th March 2012 Venue: Quorn Village Hall, Leicester Road, Quorn, Leicestershire GR: 563165 Start: From Quorn Village Hall 8.00 am - Walkers 9.00 am - Runners Time Limit: 10 Hours. Checkpoint closing times will be on the route description Registration: At venue around 30 minutes before start time. Entry: £9.00 for either route, cheques made payable to: Rotary Club of Blaby Meridian. Entries on the day £10.00 providing there is availability.  All Proceeds go to Menphys, Burbage & Macmillan Nurses Fee includes refreshments en route, hot meal and drinks at finish, also certificate to all those who successfully complete the route. Badges available at £2.00 Under 18’s: Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an entrant over 18 during the event, also signed approval must be given by a parent/guardian on the entry form. Results: Anyone requiring results should send an extra SAE (9” x 4”) marked “results” top left hand corner along with the entry form. Route: 26 mile - Quorn, Woodhouse, Woodhouse Eaves, Beacon Hill, Bardon Hill, Copt Oak, Newtown Linford, Swithland, Quorn 15 mile - Quorn, Woodhouse, Woodhouse Eaves, Beacon Hill, Bradgate, Swithland, Quorn (A route description will be sent on receipt of a SAE “9 X 4”) Equipment: Suitable footwear, mug, compass. If you want to use maps to supplement the route description they are 1:50000 129 and 1:25000 SK 41/51 or Explorer 245 & 246, depending which distance you are completing. A route marked map will be on display at registration. Retirements: Anyone retiring at a roadside checkpoint can be transported back to the venue. You must contact event organizers to notify them of your retirement. Parking: Details will be sent with entry numbers. Dogs: To be kept on a le ad please. Water can be supplied on request.
