To Whom It May Concern, I met Gerard Trimberger in January of 2014 when he was hired at the computer repair shop where I was working. My first impression of Gerard was that he is a good, honest person and throughout the time we worked together he continuously proved this to be true. Although as technicians we repaired computers, a major component of our job was customer service. Gerard was always very straightforward and honest with the customers and did an excellent job of communicating with them exactly what was going on with their computer. Even though he didn’t enjoy being the bearer of bad news, he would sympathetically inform a customer if their data was irretrievable or if it was more cost effective to purchase a new computer. However, typically we were able to successfully repair computers that were brought in to the shop in a timely manner. People rely on their computers for everything so most customers were in a tremendous hurry to get their computer fixed as soon as possible. One quality I appreciated about Gerard was that he would only consider a computer completed once it was to his standards, which are nothing short of perfection. He took pride in his work and wanted to ensure that the customers would be happy. I remember once Gerard told me that it didn’t matter whether he was repairing computers or flipping burgers at McDonald’s, he would be working his hardest and completing things the right way. This mentality earned him the customers trust and respect, as well as my own. When there were no customers to help we would work on the computers that were there. I believe that when someone is alone is when their genuine behavior can be observed. Gerard always was able to impressively multitask and prioritize in order to maximize his productivity and accomplish tasks that he was asked to complete. I never worried about his capabilities or quality of work when he was alone. Gerard would frequently stay late working on computers. Before he left for the night he would go around the room to look at every computer and leave detailed notes of what has been done and/or how he recommended proceeding. Also he would straighten up the shop area by putting away tools, turning off monitors, and other miscellaneous tasks. Although it was a rule to write notes and clean up at the end of the day, it was not enforced and Gerard was one of the few employees who would always do what was right. I liked working the mornings after Gerard’s closing shifts because I could rely on that fact and knew I would easily be able to figure out exactly what needed to be started next. I was thankful for his genuine thoughtfulness for his coworkers and the customers. I preferred to work with Gerard because we communicated well and we were capable of effectively getting work completed. He was very helpful and always had great ideas. Something that I found interesting about Gerard was that he would only say he was right about an idea if he was 100% sure and he would make it clear if he had any doubt. Everything he said I took to be the truth because I knew he had put thought into it and had confidence in himself. When he

To Whom It May Concern,

I met Gerard Trimberger in January of 2014 when he was hired at the computer repair

shop where I was working. My first impression of Gerard was that he is a good, honest person

and throughout the time we worked together he continuously proved this to be true. Although

as technicians we repaired computers, a major component of our job was customer service.

Gerard was always very straightforward and honest with the customers and did an excellent job

of communicating with them exactly what was going on with their computer. Even though he

didn’t enjoy being the bearer of bad news, he would sympathetically inform a customer if their

data was irretrievable or if it was more cost effective to purchase a new computer. However,

typically we were able to successfully repair computers that were brought in to the shop in a

timely manner. People rely on their computers for everything so most customers were in a

tremendous hurry to get their computer fixed as soon as possible. One quality I appreciated

about Gerard was that he would only consider a computer completed once it was to his

standards, which are nothing short of perfection. He took pride in his work and wanted to

ensure that the customers would be happy. I remember once Gerard told me that it didn’t

matter whether he was repairing computers or flipping burgers at McDonald’s, he would be

working his hardest and completing things the right way. This mentality earned him the

customers trust and respect, as well as my own.

When there were no customers to help we would work on the computers that were

there. I believe that when someone is alone is when their genuine behavior can be observed.

Gerard always was able to impressively multitask and prioritize in order to maximize his

productivity and accomplish tasks that he was asked to complete. I never worried about his

capabilities or quality of work when he was alone. Gerard would frequently stay late working on

computers. Before he left for the night he would go around the room to look at every computer

and leave detailed notes of what has been done and/or how he recommended proceeding. Also

he would straighten up the shop area by putting away tools, turning off monitors, and other

miscellaneous tasks. Although it was a rule to write notes and clean up at the end of the day, it

was not enforced and Gerard was one of the few employees who would always do what was

right. I liked working the mornings after Gerard’s closing shifts because I could rely on that fact

and knew I would easily be able to figure out exactly what needed to be started next. I was

thankful for his genuine thoughtfulness for his coworkers and the customers.

I preferred to work with Gerard because we communicated well and we were capable of

effectively getting work completed. He was very helpful and always had great ideas. Something

that I found interesting about Gerard was that he would only say he was right about an idea if

he was 100% sure and he would make it clear if he had any doubt. Everything he said I took to

be the truth because I knew he had put thought into it and had confidence in himself. When he

didn’t know something or wasn’t certain he would research it as he was always excited to learn

something new. Another reason I enjoyed working with him was because I got the opportunity

to get to know what kind of person he is and hear his thoughts on many topics. Gerard was an

exceptional coworker and is an amazing person who is one of the few who have earned my

trust and respect.

Sincerely,
