Adjectives are used to describe nouns.

They are good students.

The word good is an adjective and it answers the question “What kind of?” (Какой, Какая, Какое, Какие? in Russian).

You can form adverbs from many adjectives by

dropping the adjectival ending (-ый, -ое, -ая, -ые) and replacing it with -o.

. When the subject of the sentence is это, always use the adverb in -o as a predicate.

Это трудно.That’s hard./That’s difficult.
