During the Tang, however, an emperor launched a campaign against the religion destroying much of the texts and temples

Buddhism continued to play a role in art, architecture literature and the lives of Chinese citizens even today.

A mix of Buddhism, Daoism, Confucianism and other philosophies helped to create a new way of thinking.
