I stood at the bus stop with my feet rooted into the gravel. I was waiting, waiting for a

break, waiting for a cure or antidote that can make me human.

I remembered how I can swipe my fimbled fingers and the bus could appear instantly,I wanted to not be the freak and also make things difficult for my best friends. Let's make the picture bigger, I stood at the bus stop with my feet rooted into the gravel as my best friends Gabby and Reece fight about the newest small-town band's song. Their attachment makes me the third wheel, but it's easier to keep my secret that way. Like how they never came over to my house,or in fact never met any of my family. Little do they know, my family isn't actually my family. That's because I live alone. I casually lie multiple times by saying "my brother is sick" or "my parents are out of town". It's sad since I am 15 and have been alone by myself since I was 6. As weird as this may sound, I had a nanny. I tried to make myself believe it was my mother, but my mind blocked it off. She had beautiful golden hair and olive skin. Blue eyes that matched the sky I never doubted to make a big deal of. She always wore a white dress that flew in the wind, because she never cared if the door was open bringing in heavy breezes. What I liked the most about her was her woven leaves that she wore around her head. Early in the morning I would watch her go out to the field behind my house and pick flowers. When she makes it back inside with a nest of flowers, she brews coffee and sits in a rocking chair creating her halo. I would crawl in her lap and snuggle with her as the golden light shown through the window. "You know I will not always be here." she would say as she rocked me. I didn't care about the future when I was that age, all that here." she would say as she rocked me. I didn't care about the future when I was that age, all that mattered to me was the present. "Why?" I would ask finally looking into her aqua eyes, how it would change different shades of blue throughout the day. "I need to go back home Caire." she would softly speak, I knew how much she missed her "home", eventhough I didn't know where it was. This was also the first time I ever heard my name. Something churned in my stomach that give me instant knowledge it was my name.

One day, I woke up early expecting to see her outside picking flowers. I ached a little when the

field was empty and the weeds swayed with saddnes. I ran into her bedroom, to find every sign of her existing gone. And that's the week the bus decides to stop in front of my home and take me school. Also the time when I realized I need to keep everything a secret. Another thing I realized was that the majestic woman that cared for since I was born was Mother Nature. I am one of her children.

Sat down to protect the plants and animals from the damage humans cause. The bus finally arrived as I hopped on and bundled up with Gabby and Reece. Gabby agressively put lip gloss on while Reece pours powdered juice in a water bottle and shakes it. "Can you please stop shaking?!" she yells slapping his arm, which caused him to spill his juice on his white shirt shaking?!" she yells slapping his arm, which caused him to spill his juice on his white shirt (wrong choice) leaving a red stain. I couldn't help laughing as he glared at me. He took his shirt off, exposing his bare chest.

I quickly take my eyes off of him in disgust. I focused on Gabby as she couldn't help but drool a little. He dug in his backpack and pulled out a black shirt and threw it on.

We finally pulled up to the school as Gabby held on to my backpack. I was okay with it since I know exactly the reason why. The amount of teenagers running everyhwere and bumping us all. Reece walked behind us shoving everyone so he couldn't get another ruined shirt. Just to think, we have two more years of hurrying through the courtyard into the school. Getting inside, Gabby let go and reached out of her bag for lip balm. She headed her seperate way to her locker, her red let go and reached out of her bag for lip balm. She headed her seperate way to her locker, her red hair bouncing away.

Her boots made her noticable by how loud they are. Reece and I made it to our lockers, which were luckily by eachother. "Caire, do you have any plans this weekend?" he asked.

Before I answered my eyes catches him. Utterly the most amazing, perfect human being you could ever lay eyes on. Happily he lays his on me. Daniel Onah. Not most people would agree with me when it comes to him. But just something about him has me blind. Gabby calls him and his friends the 6 Stalkers, because their constant staring at me and her like we're the last cookie on the plate. Mostly me. Daniel had golden skin as if he made out with the sun. He had dark shaggy hair, his bangs cutting right above his eyes. The piercing green of his eyes were literally breathtaking. I drifted my eyes away and realized all of them were watching. They were all Italian. The golden skin and the beautiful hair. Daniel's best friend Pasna Kial (he goes by Ollie for some odd reason) is the guy who tossed Gabby's heart around until she finally retrieved it and for some odd reason) is the guy who tossed Gabby's heart around until she finally retrieved it and locked it away. If you haven't noticed, she is so close to giving it to Reece. Reece waves his hand in front of my face pushing me back into reality. "Earth to Caire!" he snaps. I blinked at his puffed voice. "Are you busy this weekend?" he asks. My eyes shifted to Daniel and his soft face hardened as he abandoned his friends. "Yeah, I am. Why?" I finally grabbed onto my lock and fumbled to switch to the combination.

"Well, I was thinking we could rent out a hotel room for tonight? You know just three friends 4

having a sleepover." he mummbles out going through his locker.

I smiled at his idea, as a normal human I would have been hesitant. You know? Like ask their parents and then get angry when they say no. And at the end of it all, sneak out,go back home the next morning and then grounded. "Sounds great! I'm sure my parents will let me." I said grabbing my books and closing my locker. He smiled widly and said "Great! So everyone most likely will be coming. It's at Yorkson Hotel. Be there by 7." Reece closed his locker and heads to class, leaving me wide and open for 5/6 of the stalkers to openly stare. I swifted my hand as the bell leaving me wide and open for 5/6 of the stalkers to openly stare. I swifted my hand as the bell quickly rung saving me from awkwardness.

By lunch, I was pumped. Learning boosts my mood for the oddest reason, Even though the constant writing is what I dread, I perfer just casually listening. I sat at our table with one slice of the school's greasy pizza leaking on my plate. I took a bite wiping the grease off my mouth. Gabby and Reece walked over to our table arguing over whatever. I reached for my iPod and turned up "Do I Wanna Know?" by Arctic Monkeys to drown their bickering. As I looked up to them smiling.

I found Daniel's strucked looks as his eyes were on me. I lowered my head back to my pizza as Gabby took an earbud out of ear. "What?" I asked between midbites.

She rolled her eyes and stab a fork in her salad. "You can't lock yourself away from us. Please tell me you aren't doing that at the sleepover." she pleads.

"No, I won't, but I can't stand you two bickering." I answer between laughs. I smiled at them and couldn't stop myself from laughing. I was somehow insanely happy. "OMG,you look so beautiful when you smile. Look at her Reece, isn't she beautiful!" She gasps turning my face to Reece. Reece

smiles while drinking his water."Just breathtaking." his smile grows wider.

"We need to see that smile more often." she laughs and take a bite of her salad. It made me think of my appearance more. I mean I do kind of like my features but it's nothing I would really want them to obsess over. Scratch that. I don't actually like my face or features. I hate everything about them in fact. My spring green eyes, my dark hair, my dimples, my olive skin that's covered with freckles. I just don't like it.

When I got home I dropped my back on the sofa and headed to my room. Pulling out a backpack to stuff some clothes in. Two outfits of each just in case of any accident.

I danced around my room with excitement to the playlists on my phone. I mean this is incredibly human like and I'm fitting in and actually looking like a normal teenager. Expectations flooded my head on how the night would be. Just thinking of, who would stay up late and if anyone falls asleep first will have their face drawn on....
