Keeping up-to-date information in Banner is essential on many levels. This can often be confusing but Banner makes it a bit easier. In this module youll learn where you can find general information regarding name changes for employees, alumni, and personnel and payroll information. Well begin there as it can simplify your need for information.1First-Login toBanner Self-Service

Remember that Banner protects your private information by requiring a password to view and edit the data that youre able to access. So, log into Banner Self-Service and were ready to go.2General Information

Once logged into Banner the Personal Information Tab is viewable. If the information shown in this image is not visible, click on the Personal Information Tab. Than, click on the link for Name Change.3General Information Screen

This information should be self-explanatory however if you have any questions regarding the content please contact someone in the Human Resources Department located in Bagen 108 or call at extension 2240. Theyll be glad to help you in any way they can.4Viewing and ChangingInformation

The two tabs that will allow you to view information includes the Personal Tab and the Employee Tab.5

The personal tab allows you to VIEW most information but will allow you to UPDATE your emergency contacts. It also will link you to the United States Government site for the Social Security Information Frequently Asked Questions. Note also that the link for Name Change Information Is located under this tab. Viewing your information underneath the Personal Information tab is self-explanatory with the exception being the Update Emergency Contacts which will be covered in the next slide.

The Employee tab has two links that will help you with name changes. The first is the Telephone Directory Information and General Address Change Forms. Well look at these next.6Update Personnel Information

The form in the upper part of the screen is used to update your personnel and payroll information. The left side of the screen is your personnel information as it exists in the Banner database currently. To change your name on your personnel and payroll records, present your updated Social Security Card that reflects your new name to the Human Resource Office in Bagen 108. The form above will be completed and your records will be updated immediately. Remember, for additional information about this process see the section under the personal information tab and click on the link for Name Change Information.

Canisius College now has an Online Directory which has tabs for Faculty and Staff, Departments, Students, and Clubs. You can search for a name under the appropriate tab and click on it to reveal additional information like location, phone number, e-mail address. Having the directory online has several major advantages. The first is that any changes for an employee is updated immediately instead of waiting for the new directory. Its faster and easier to use than the paper directory and costs nothing except for updates when needed. We encourage all Canisius members to use this directory. It can be found on both Faculty/staff and student web pages. Just look for the link for Online directories,8Update Your Online DirectoryInformation

Updating the information that appears in the Online Directory is easy. Simply enter the information you need to change in the right column under the online directory information. If you need to add a comment theres a text entry box below. Human Resources will assure that the information is correct and make the changes requested. Once again the change should be immediate once approved and entered.

If your office or phone number is changed this information will be passed to Information Technology Services and those changes will be made.9The EndThanks for viewing this module.
