Are you ready for GHS?For 25 years, workplaces across Ontario have
followed the requirements set out by WHMIS—Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System—which protects
workers from the hazards associated with using or working near controlled substances. Soon, Canada will adopt a new
international approach to classifying and communicating hazards associated with controlled products. This new system
is called the Globally Harmonized System for Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS).
IHSA is offering a free seminar to help employers understand and prepare for the changes to WHMIS that will come in the
near future as Canada makes the transition to GHS.
Join IHSA, the Ministry of Labour, and other organizations for this free seminar to learn about GHS and
how it will impact your workplace.
During the break, you will have an
opportunity to learn more about the
Certificate of Recognition program
(CORTM) in Ontario. You will also have a
chance to see a demonstration of two
new online products from IHSA—Health
and Safety Essentials and IHSA My
Health and Safety Program.
