Licence to Perform Rigging - Basic Level

OVERVIEW  

INCREASE YOUR EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Earn a certification in Basic Rigging

Holding a Rigging Certificate is essential if you are required to oversee the erection of building framework orconstruction sites. The aim of this course is to provide you with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills to carryout basic level rigging duties.

The course is up to date with current practical skills, general knowledge, slinging methods and crane usage.

You will be required to undertake performance and written assessments.

Ropes - care, usage and strengths•

Fibre rope slings•

Knots, bends and hitches•

Preparation of winch and purchase arrangements•

Chains- types, grades, components of assemblies, inspection, care and selection•

Slings - types and ratings•

4 DAYS

Equipment used to raise loads•

Calculations for estimating tensions•

Safety•

Movement of objects by packing and jacking•

Accreditation

Upon successful completion of assessment, you will be issued with a WorkSafe Notice of Assessment to enable you toapply for a Licence to Perform High Risk Work for Rigging Basic Level (Class RB).

$60 is required and payable to Australia Post for issue of the WorkSafe Licence to Perform High Risk Work.

You’ll also receive credit and certification for the following accredited unit from MEM40105 - Certificate IV inEngineering:

CPCCLRG3001A - Licence to perform rigging basic level

Enrolment Requirements

1. You’ll Need a Unique Student Identifier

To study any nationally recognised training in Australia, you must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). Your USIlinks to an online account that contains your training records and all results for any training you’ve completed after 1January 2015.

With a USI you’ll always have easy access to your training records and results – this will simplify applying for jobs orenrolling in further study.

You must have a USI when you enrol.

You can apply for a USI online or get more information at  www.usi.gov.au.

You will also need photo identification (including your date of birth).
