Question: What career will you pursue and why?

I, Masaya Miyazaki, want to become an engineer. I have two reasons for this: engineering is the one

of request jobs in any times because engineering gives safely realized solution to the needs of society.

Moreover, I believe that demand of engineering will increase in the future with improvement of

technology. Therefore, to be involved in new technology I want to study engineering to pursue this

dream. The second reason is personal. Since I was born in Nepal, I have travelled to several countries.

In any place, I have always interested in local machine. I tried to figure out how it works, how it

moves, or what it is made from. Hence I want to pursue engineering career to help my interest. All in

all, engineering is one of my goals. It will help and improve the people’s life in the future.

would like to know what is required for applying to your college and detail of Ohio Northern

University.

I know your university from hearing from my friend. With the research I learned the details about

Ohio Northern University; for example, I am planning to visit Ohio Northern University’s engineering

open house day on October 2, 2010. However, I could not find the detail of engineering; therefore I

want more information about it. In addition, to ensure the applying to your college, I want to know

more what is required and send me the athletic information because I am also interested in playing

soccer.

What is answer for university?

-Own country vs. outside

Problem for international student

As our world is globalizing with rapid speed, number of international student becomes

numerous. For the high school international students, choosing the university is one of important

decision, thinking about education and future, because there are around 17,000 universities in the

world. Therefore, deciding to whether going back their own nation or not will be the first decision that

international student will face. As I am the one of international school students, and having the

conversation with international student who is enroll to outside of nation, I believe that both decisions

have advantage and disadvantage; however, at least I want to give you the answer for this: go back to

own nation or not.

Advantage of going outside of the nation

There are several advantages of going to outside of own nation for international student.

Experiencing to go to outside of country, I fell that the biggest merit are that international students are

used to have international system: education system or school policy. For example, because most of

the international students have difference background, we are used understand each other and share

difference thought and. Crossing of different values and background will create memorable and

valuable experience. One of the international student at United Kingdom share the thought “You meet

far more people and generally there is a very social environment and you meet friends who share your

interests.” In addition, having different opinions will open the mind. On the other hand, when

international student go back to own nation, students, who are not international school students, are

only accepting one culture or values. Therefore, international student may fells hesitation to speak out

different thoughts to others.

Advantage of going back to own nation

In contrast, there are different advantage and disadvantage of going back to own country. Biggest

advantage is that they do have the language barriers. Therefore, they will express exactly what they

want to others. If they go to outside of their nation, sometimes they do not create the close friend

except from same nationality because some people said that they feel cultural and language

boundaries. Luck of quality of language block to create the friend. On the other hand, going back to

home country, they can have more smooth conversation and less conflict. Next advantage is that if

student study in outside of their nation by alone, families will worry about their child because parents

never experienced live alone in outside of the country as student unless they were international

student. Because parents experienced same culture and situation, they many can help you when you

have the problem. In addition, going back to own country will save the money for travelling back to

own county and parents to visit to your place Because the price of fuel has increased, it will save few

thousand of US dollar.. “The real disadvantage of studying here is that the city is very

expensive and I am far from my friends and family” said one of international students. Hence

Other disadvantage is that it is harder to find the job when I tried to go back to my own country.

University has a strong connection between their local region but rare to have connection between

other countries.

So what you going to choose

In conclusion, there are both advantage and disadvantage of going to own country or outside

of country; however, we cannot go to university twice so it is impossible to do true comparison.

Therefore, it is your decision for whether going to outside of the country or inside of country. The

decision that many influence the most is your future plan. However, in both universities you must

work hard to create your future. In a now days, company required to have high quality of education.
