Our college sent students for International Moot

Court held in Jaipur National University, Jaipur. Our

students went to Jaipur to represent the College for

Moot Court Competition. The Moot Court problem

was based on International Banking and Investment

Law. They prepared good memorial and quoted the

latest cases. The team that went to Jaipur included (1)

Prashi Tyagi [5th Sem] (2) Harsha Grewal [5th Sem]

(3) Sakshi Dua [3rd Sem]. Students presented very

confidently and mooted very well. A good job has been done by our college students and they

ended up with 17th position out of 30 teams that took participation in International Moot Court.

A visit to National Lok Adalat was organized by our college for law students on 6th December,

2014. A total of 33 students visited the ‘National Lok Adalat’ organised at the Supreme Court of

India , under the supervision of Dr. K.B. Asthana, Dr. Pushpraj Singh and Mr. Vijay Pal Singh.

Lok Adalat is a system of alternative dispute

resolution developed in India. It roughly

means "People's court". The idea of Lok

Adalat was mainly advocated by Justice P.N.

Bhagwati, former Chief Justice of India.

The Lok Adalat started at 10:00 am and was

inaugurated by Supreme Court judge

Honourable Justice A. R. Dave and in the apex

court itself, 28 out of 53 cases were settled by

three benches.

Justice Dave said it is the best and cheap mode to resolve disputes as both the fighting parties

come to a mutually acceptable solution and they do not have to wait for years to get their cases

decided in court. The cases which were taken up ranged from family disputes, matrimonial cases,

motor accident claims, bank recoveries, petty criminal matters, revenue matters, disbursements

under MNREGA and other welfare schemes. Students were very keen to observe the court

proceedings and learnt a lot.

Competition on social issues is the best way to spread awareness among students. Keeping this in mind,

a declamation competition on “Anti Tobacco” was organized by CPJ-CHS on 20th October, 2014.

Students of BBA, BBA (CAM), B.A,LL.B (H) and B.COM (H) participated in debate competition

with full enthusiasm and passion. Students shared knowledgeable information to the people and they

tried to bring attention towards harmful effects of smoking cigarettes and chewing tobacco. Each

participant rose to the occasion to defend their argument. All students enthusiastically put forward their

points. The content, presentation, pronunciation and expression of all the students were remarkable.

Thus by this competition, CPJ-CHS tried to take a step forward towards elimination of tobacco

consumption to eradicate this evil from society. At the end of event, result was announced. Dhruv,

student of B.A.LL.B (1st Semester) took away the best speaker trophy. The prize for the 1st runner up

went to Sharan Banga of B.A.LL.B(5th Semester) and 2nd runner up to Prashi Tyagi of B.A.LL.B (5th

Semester).

It’s one of the most exciting and sought after amusement park in Delhi and NCR. The park is

divided into two zones, the Road Show zone and the La Fiesta zone. Apart from the international

rides available, Worlds of Wonder also has wide array of indoor as well as outdoor activities,

boating being the most popular of all. On the whole, students had a lot of fun in water and

swings, a refreshing change from routine life where they could just relax and enjoyed a good

time.

The idea of Swachhata Abhiyan mooted by the Prime

Minister Shri Narendra Modi is as commendable as the

selection of the day for its launch on 2nd October, the Birth

Anniversary of the Father of the Nation. Mahatma Gandhi

himself practiced and preached lessons of cleanliness.

Gandhiyan vision of cleanliness oozes out of his

Experiments with Truth. We have to keep our

surroundings clean in order to stay clean. We need to stay

clean to make room for a clean mind, free from falsehood,

dishonesty, deceit and violence. It is in a clean body with

clean thinking that a clean Atma the soul dwells.

Keeping this in mind, CPJ-CHS & School of Law

celebrated Swachhta Abhiyan on 2nd October, 2014

with great fervour at its premises. The day started

with welcome address delivered by Chief

Administrative Officer, Mr. S.K. Mohla, followed

by Oath taking ceremony. Afterwards Campus

surroundings were inspected to check further scope

of improvement. The day ended with resolutions in

mind that we will remain committed towards

cleanliness and devote time for this.
