29. - 31. soruları aşağıdaki parçaya görecevaplayınız.

Great white sharks are found in warm coastal waters and have been sighted on every continent except Antarctica. The maximum number of great whites are found off the Australian and South African coasts, sometimes coming in very close to the beach. Females can reach seven metres in length. Males can reach fi ve metres. Females hatch eggs inside their bodies and give birth to live young sharks, unlike, for example, birds that bear eggs and then hatch them. Unfortunately, these sharks are commercially hunted. The situation is so bad that great white sharks should be labelled ‘endangered’ and stricter measures be taken to protect the species against over-fi shing, pollution and destruction of their habitat. Also since the great white shark is slow to reach maturity, the number of fi sh capable of breeding is very little, leading to lowered population growth. Nobody is quite sure what the real population of great white sharks is, but about 100 million great sharks are killed each year.

29. As stated in the passage, female great whitesharks ----.

A) great white sharks have recently becomeextinct

research

31. One point made in the passage is that greatwhite sharks are endangered ----.

A) but no one is interested in their sad situationB) so they should be forced to migrate to

AntarcticaC) because no one knows what their exact

population isD) although they have been protected very well

for decadesE) because of over-fi shing, pollution and

destruction of their habitat
