«A technical and scientific programming of irrigation based on indicators ofwater stress of soil, plant and climate and validated is essential to increasewater productivity, with minimal environmental impact», comment fromProfessor of Plant Production of the UPCT, Rafael Domingo.
Example: Use of sensors toachieve 40 % savings in waterresources
CHAIRS / Doctoral thesisThe University Chairs constitute an ideal means for theestablishment of strategic and lasting collaborationsbetween the University and companies or public orprivate institutions aimed at training, research andknowledge transfer in one or several areas of commoninterest.

It can be said that at regional level there is a good collaboration
but not a proper coordination of all the
water related activities carried out
by the different R+D+iagents

Region of Murcia, SpainTransregional cooperation. Conclusions
- WATER SECTOR -Through these European projects it is demonstrated that the critical mass of Murcia is
working on these issues to a dimension not only local or regional, but international, since all these technologies can be exported to other countries with semi-arid climate and
shortages of Water. There is a very important potential market for irrigation technologies in almost all countries of the Mediterranean Basin, and in many other regions in the world.
Circular Economy in relation to Water TechnologyRegion of Murcia has experience and technologies to take advantage of the little water it has. It knows how to turn an arid
zone into a garden, with a limited amount of water, at a reasonable cost and with respect for the Environment.

EXCHANGE OF EXPERIENCE
from Food Companies, Technological Centers, Universities and theDevelopment Agency of the Region of Murcia INFO.
Conclusions:i) a single Agency should coordinate the issue to improve
innovation because there are too many Regional Institutions thathave competences on water and efforts are divided
ii) students' training should be encouraged in water issues becauseof the scarcity of water in the Region of Murcia.
From September 2018Encourage and contribute to the efficientmanagement of water through the use oftechniques for saving and conserving waterresources, which are the basis of waterculture in the Region of Murcia.
Exchange of experience because it developsnumerous projects related to watermanagement in the Region of Murcia andworks to improve current water policies
