Collaboration agreements The CGU agreed on a series of collabo- ration lines with the Fundación Galicia Europa (FGE) and with the Fundación Cidade da Cultura de Galicia. These agreements were reached during a mee- ting with the director of the Fundación Galicia Europa (FGE), Jesús Gamallo, and a meeting with the Ma- nager Director of the Fundación Cidade da Cultura de Galicia, Beatriz González Loro- ño. Both meetings took place at Santiago de Compostela. These collaboration initiatives will be officially presented at the General Assembly. +info More news Stella 2012 The STELLA Programme for Adminis- trative Staff Mobility 2012 is provi- ding an opportunity for a total of 18 participants from university members within the Com- postela Group to enjoy an international work placement experience for one or two weeks. The number participating in this year’s call shows the success of the programme. Specifically, the CGU received a total of 81 offers (services/units open to receive admi- nistrative staff) from 40 American and European universities and a total of 47 applications. In this edition, the programme is open to CGU mutual member networks: CONAHEC and FAUBAI. +info International Prize The Compostela Group of Universi- ties announced through its President, Maurits van Rooijen, during a press conference held at the University of Santiago de Compostela, the decision, made jointly with the Gali- cian Govern- ment, of giving the XVI International Prize Compostela Group-Xunta de Galicia to the College of Europe as a recognition for its promotion of the European values in Higher Education. Along with the President of the Group, the General Secretary of the Xunta de Galicia for Culture and member of the Jury, Anxo Lorenzo, and the Rector of the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) and member of the Group’s Executive Commiee, Juan Casares Long, also took part at the press conference. The award ceremony will take place 21st September during the XVIII General Assembly of the Group at Oulu (Finland).+ info Acting Executive Secretary As it is required by the statutes of the CGU, the Rector of the University of Santia- go (USC), Juan Casa- res Long, proposed at Executive Com- miee meeting held the 26-27 January in Brussels, a candidate for the position of Executive Secretary of the network, Professor Isabel Lirola Delgado, Vice- Dean of the USC’s Faculty of Law since 2007.
