Coming into existence in 2008 after the delimitation process, Antagarh (ST) seat was won twice in a row by BJP's former forest minister Vikram Usendi. A voter turnout of 58.73 percent was recorded in the Antagarh assembly seat by-polls which were held on September 13. 2) Centre gives nod for National Tribal University The Central government approved the proposal of Chhattisgarh government during a meeting of state's Chief Minister Raman Singh and Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani on Monday in New Delhi," a state government spokesperson said on Tuesday. "The consent was given to commence the functioning of the university from the next academic session," he said. During the meeting, Singh said that the university will greatly benefit the people of tribal-dominated Bastar in preservation of culture, traditional and natural resources, besides from the education point of view, he said. 3) Chhattisgarh government has decided to establish the first Geothermal Power Plant of the country in the newly formed Balrampur district of the state.
