Open the battery compartment inside the unit andinserf two size AA (R6) batteries with the 0 and Omarks correctly aligned.

Battery replacement + qReplace the batteries with new ones when the OPE/BATT indicator becomes dim.l Before replacing the batteries, be sure to turn off

the power to prevent the erasure of preset stationmemories and exercise calculation.

l The unit retains the preset station memories forabout 1 minute without batteries. To prevent theerasure of the memories, replace the batteriesquickly.

Note on dry cell batteriesl Make sure that the 0 and 0 marks are correctly

aligned.l Do not mix different types of batteries, or an old

battery with a new one.. Never recharge the batteries, apply heat to them or

take them apart.. When not using the batteries, remove them to

prevent needless wear.l If liquid leaks from the batteries, wipe thoroughly to

remove.

3 Press + or - to tune in to a station.After listening, keep RADIO ON/OFF BANDpressed for about 1 second to turn off the power.

For quick tuningKeep either i- or - pressed for 1 or 2 seconds.When a station is tuned in, the frequency indicatorstops automatically. However, it may not stop if thebroadcast signal is weak.

For better reception + qFM/11/AVEATHER: The headphone cord functions

as the FM antenna, Keep it extended.AM: Turn the unit to find the position that gives the

best reception.

To listen to FM stereo broadcasts+ qSet the FM MODE switch inside the cassette holderto STEREO.If the FM stereo signal is weak, set it to MONO. Thesound will be heard in monaural, but distortion will bereduced.
