Comments: Upon arrival at the Dalton, GA. airport, the aircraft owner advised this appraiser that none of the airframe engine or propeller logbooks were available, and all the aircraft paperwork was “lost”, and unavailable for the appraisal. Accordingly, any airframe or engine times referred to in this document are only my estimate, based on information provided verbally by the owner.
Maintenance Status
Maintenance Inspection Date: 7/1/2009On Progressive Inspection: No
Comments: As Mentioned above, there was no available documentation to confirm compliance with any applicable, FFA required maintenance inspections, service bulletin, or airworthiness directives.

Comments: No Documentation was available to confirm paint status. This Cessna is painted in a scheme which was not factory option on date of manufacture, so an assumption is made that this is not factory paint, and that the airplane has been repainted, probably at the time the STOL kit was installed on the airframe.

Comments: The Interior of the aircraft is in generally good condition, and the fabrics and carpeting are well kept. Although some wear is evident, it is not in need of repair, and the seats, side panels, and carpeting are serviceable.
Airframe Modifications
Date of Modification: Unknown
Modification: This aircraft does have a STOL kit (Short Take Off & Landing) installed, (Manufacturer Unknown), but the details of the kit cannot be confirmed without the aircraft paperwork. Dates and extent of modifications are also unknown to this appraiser.
Damage History
Current Damage: None
Historical Damage: The owner reports that the aircraft was involved in a gear-up landing prior to his taking ownership. Date of the incident and extent of damage can only be estimated based on the owner’s comments.

Comments: At the risk of being repetitive, the absence of propeller and engine logbooks prevents the appraiser from gaining “In-Depth” knowledge of the engine and propeller’s ages of maintenance and overhaul history. Although the owner reports that this Cessna 210 has an upgraded TCM Continental IO-550 engine, this cannot be confirmed without removing the cowling from the aircraft.
Engine Modifications
Aircraft was originally manufactured with a TCM Continental IO-520A, 285 HP Engine, Owner reports that an upgrade was made, and the aircraft currently has a Continental IO-550 engine, rated 300 HP (Unconfirmed).
Known Maintenance Problems with Engine: Based on verbal information from the owner, this engine is beyond the FFA time for recommended overhaul.
Estimated Cost to Repair: $33,000.00 (Field overhaul cost)

Instrumentation
Full Panel: YesDual Panel: NoPanel Configuration: GoodPanel Condition: GoodIFR Equipped: Yes
Comments: This aircraft has a very nice IFR panel, with quality Garmin avionics. Although no documentation was presented to confirm compliance with required FAA inspections, this 210 should be a solid IFR platform. Due to dead battery, we are unable to confirm the operational status of any instruments or avionics.

Aircraft Appraiser’s Comments
This aircraft has not been flown for the past 8-10 months and has a dead battery. Generally speaking, this Centurion shows well for its age. There have obviously been a number of upgrades preformed on the airframe including the STOL kit, the owner’s reported engine upgrade to a TMC IO-550, paint, interior, etc. since date of manufacture. Unfortunately, no written details or documentation of any of these upgrades was available. Only the comments of the current owner indicate the current status of the upgrades, repairs, inspections, and damage and maintenance history.
The exterior coating on the airplane shows reasonably well, however, with the lack of any flying activity, the airframe is covered with dust and pollen, and in dire need of a good wash job and some wax. There is evidence of some abrasion on the leading edge of the wings and tail surfaces, and some flaking of the paint would seem to indicate that there may have been some adhesion issues when the airframe coating was applied.
The aircraft interior is in good condition. There is little evidence of wear because nobody has recently flown it. The seating surfaces, carpets and side panels while showing some wear, are very serviceable and in no immediate need of repair or upgrade.
This 210 has an excellent instrument panel, with upgraded avionics, and a nice layout for the vintage. The owner reports that all avionics are in good condition; however we were unable to confirm this due to the dead battery.
