Due to the snow days, Central Elementary will now participate The Great Kindness Challenge the week of February 8 - 12.
Students continue to learn about the benefits and possible results of being kind to others during classroom counseling lessons.
Students seem excited to participate in the Kind Coins for Kenya Campaign. Many students have met Magi and seen her village and school in Kenya!)
Kind Coins for Kenya CampaignWhatFor a designated period of time, students collect spare change at home and in neighborhoods to be donated for the new school.
Why1. All children in the world deserve to go to school. 2. Giving to others teaches compassion.3. Learning about global issues helps students to be active global citizens. 4. This is a dynamic way to fulfill one of the 50 acts of kindness, “Make a wish for a
child in another country.” 5. To unify all Great Kindness Challenge schools around one common service project.
Kindness is working together!
Where does the money go? All collected money goes to Kids for Peace, the nonprofit that hosts the Great Kindness Challenge. Kids for Peace is partnering with an NGO in Kenya to build the school.

RESCHEDULED!!!
Comprehensive developmental school counseling programs provide education, prevention and intervention services, which are integrated into all aspects of children’s lives. Early identification and intervention of children’s academic and personal/social needs is essential in removing barriers to learning and in promoting academic achievement. The knowledge, attitudes and skills that students acquire in the areas of academic, career and personal/social development during elementary years serve as the foundation for future success.
