Introduction:

The African Union’s “Agenda 2063” and the 17 Sustainability Development Goals (SDG’s) drive a very compelling vision for our collaborative pursuit of the Africa We Want.

The Pan African Knowledge Renaissance demands that African Citizens find African Solutions for African Challenges!

The need to empower effective intra-continental collaboration and engage our widely-dispersed regional knowledge resources and experts, in many places simultaneously, will depend heavily on our ability to enable and leverage our collective African wisdom - focused on common knowledge needs – on-demand, anywhere and anytime.

Connecting the sources and seekers of our scarce and critical skills and knowledge and providing them with instant access to the experiences and key relationships of our numerous African experts will be the game-changer for our Pan-African Knowledge Renaissance.

The original understanding and experience of what organizational benefits and value Knowledge

Management (KM) could offer the world of work has evolved significantly over the last 20 years. And so

have the demands of the so called Modern Millennial Learner and the New World of Work.

“Whatever happened to Knowledge Management?” Prof. Tom Davenport - Wall Street Journal – 24th June 2015

World renowned academic, founding father of KM and one of the most cited Knowledge Management authors of all time.

This ground-breaking approach to equipping the modern Mobile Knowledge Manager with the most up

to date principles and practices of Mobile Knowledge Management – as well as the tools and techniques

of the Modern World of Learning - will be the most important game-changer of the last two decades.

The Modern Mobile Knowledge Manager approach includes: A complete change in approach from the traditional KM courses and models – traditional KM approaches promised an integrated synthesis between People, Process and Technology, with a high degree of emphasis on the models, systems and applications of KM and the multiple processes involved in capturing and codifying information. These often included elaborate academic theory and bespoke consulting models, which unfortunately were usually difficult to customize to unique organizational needs and the complexities of human engagement and interaction. Hence the less than favourable global stories and statistics of sustainable success directly attributed to traditional enterprise-wide KM interventions.

This modern Mobile Knowledge Manager approach will change that by integrating a number of the very latest knowledge-based learning modalities, with the proven practices and techniques which have evolved out of more classical KM over many years of real world experience.

Access to needs driven, high quality, global best practice research material – enabling the Modern KM’er to

mix and match, or customise, proven global best practice KM solutions to meet unique organisational and

cultural needs (lessons and successes from 20 years in the global KM trenches);

Engagement and collaboration with global leaders and practitioners in KM – facilitating a global

collaborative of KM’ers via the unique KMI Hub and global alumni – unlock the ultimate knowledge network;

Understanding and utilizing the latest neurosciences approach to knowledge acquisition and assimilation – optimising the “People and Learning” aspects of KM through incorporating the latest research based, brain sensitising learning and memory formation techniques;

Unleashing the power of “Knowledge Swarms and Experiential Hives™” – a ground breaking approach to “Nation Building through Knowledge Mentoring™”, by mobilizing a nation’s knowledge network;

Moving away from “massive chunked content” to highly granulated Knowledge On-Demand solutions – addressing the needs for spontaneous and context rich “in-the-moment knowledge” and “on-the-job learning” – unlocking the power of episodic learning and experiential wisdom;

Introducing Mobile Learning and the Cyber Sage through Knowledge Mentoring – introducing the exciting new world of mobile learning and mobile KM using Mobile Knowledge Mentoring Apps;

Animated Knowledge-Based Instructional Design and Progression Gamification – the latest global trends and technologies used in effective learning and sustainable knowledge sharing and transfer;

Inclusion of the latest teaching modalities for enhanced learning and engagement – world class blended, virtual, flipped, animated, mobile and e-learning combinations;

….to name just a few of the new KM focus areas in the modern Mobile Knowledge Manager approach.

Who should attend this course? The modern Mobile Knowledge Manager needs to be a highly versatile and agile cross-functional

business asset – no longer operating in a departmentalised silo under the umbrella of IT or HR.

The modern Mobile Knowledge Manager is a strategic resource and collaborative enabler… unlocking

IT and HR Managers (the new focus of KM includes a shift from typical IT dominance to more IT supported and People enabled - accessing on-demand knowledge and learning through mobility).

Three Phases of Engaged Learning to Certification:

1. Pre-class preparation – knowledge needs and expectations survey / online learning and

familiarization material / pre-course preparation

2. Facilitated 5 day Workshop session – using the latest combinations of world class blended,

virtual expert, flipped, animated, mobile and e-learning – with on-line evaluation and

certification;

3. Three month Post-class knowledge embedment - continued collaboration via mobile learning

on the myKnowledgeMentor™ App / e-learning / alumni networking.

Before, During and After - the KM Institute has you covered with the industry's best overall and end-to-end KM learning experience. Plus, join a global Community of other C-MKM / CKM / CKP / CKS Graduates and other experienced KM Professionals, for great international networking and sharing. Phase 1 – Pre-Class Preparation

All fully paid delegates will receive an e-pack of pre-course preparation and pre-reading material, as well as a link to a knowledge needs and expectations survey, as well as essential online learning and KM familiarization material (including important video and training links).

This pre-course preparation material will be sent via email approximately 2 weeks before the commencement of the facilitated course session and a web-link will be sent for the pre-course reading material, as well as the knowledge needs and expectations survey.

Delegates will engage in a game-based activity on the morning of day 1 which will require an understanding of the pre-course material and there are prizes and awards for levels of pre-course preparation. So preparation is not only important, but also a worthwhile investment.

Only fully paid delegates will receive this very important pre-course preparation material – and will be loaded onto the On-Line Evaluation and Certification system.
