Pathways: this qualification applies to workers working within the community sector in a number of roles and will have high level input into management of the program and/or service.

Entry Requirements: After achieving TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, candidates may undertake TAE50111 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training, TAE50211 Diploma of Training Design and Development OR TAE70111 Vocational Graduate Certificate in Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Practice

Job roles associated with this qualification relate to the delivery of training and assessment of competence within the VET sector. Possible job titles and roles relevant to this qualification include:

Period of enrolment:All sessions are compulsory. You can take up to 12 months to complete post course work.

Study workload:Students are to attend each scheduled class session and will be required to complete 2-4 hours a week of work in their own time.

Competency units; core & elective in this program are:TAEASS401B Plan assessment activities and processes; TAEASS402B Assess competence; TAEASS403B Participate in assessment validation;TAEDEL401A Plan, organise and deliver group-based learning; TAEDEL402A Plan, organise & facilitate learning in the workplace;TAEDES401A Design and develop learning programs;TAEDES402A Use training packages and accredited courses to meet client needs;TAEDEL301A Provide work skill instruction;TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills;BSBCMM401A Make a presentation.

Entry Requirements:Students need to be currently working in an environment which supports their opportunity to provide work skill instructions and complete presentations. It is recommended that participants should have achieved Year 10 or equivalent level in English.

Pre-requisites:There are no pre-requisites for this course; see previous page for preferred pathways.

Course materials:All materials including study notes, activities, handouts and assessment tools are provided.

Assessment and Training:All training is provided in the classroom in workshop format for each scheduled session. Assessment consists of different activities for each module and/or unit. Assessment for this qualification will include; learning program resources, short and long response questions, case studies, portfolios, evaluations, reports, reflection documents, RPL evidence, practical tasks, presentations and demonstrations, reviews, design of tools and more, plan development, feedback and assessing.

PLEASE NOTE; ALL ASSESSMENTS ARE CONDUCTED IN CLASS WITH TWO POST CLASS COMPONENTS.

Client Support Services:MDS Training offers support to all their students. Support may be related to disability, literacy, language or other concerns or barriers. Complaints:MDS Training has a procedure for anyone wanting to make a complaint. You can speak to your facilitator, the administration support person or the Manager MDS Training. All complaints are recorded and outcomes are reported. MDS Training uses complaints as part of its continuous improvement process. Forms for complaint are available from the student portal (assigned once you enrol) or you can receive one by mail or email. If you experience difficulties filling in the form contact the Manager MDS Training for assistance. This form is also provided on enrolment.

Appeals:MDS Training has a procedure for students who want to appeal any decisions affecting their outcomes. This could include competency, recognition of prior learning,

extensions or removal from a course. The form is available from the manager and assistance to complete the form can be provided. The form can also be emailed or posted to you. This form is also provided on enrolment.

Recognition of Prior Learning:Students may be able to demonstrate their competence in some units; as such recognition of prior learning is available. This is to acknowledge the skills and knowledge gained through previous training events along with life and work experience.

There is no direct link between this qualification and licensing, legislative and/or regulatory requirements. However, where required, a unit of competency will specify relevant licensing, legislative and/or regulatory requirements that impact on the unit.
