HOBART COLLEGE

What are VET courses?

Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses are an excellent opportunity to develop new industry-relevant skills and gain valuable workplace experience. They focus on developing skills through real-life practical learning and assessments.

VET courses are demanding as they aim to give you the very best chance for future work and/or training. Students who satisfactorily complete all the units within a course will gain a nationally recognised qualification.

How long are VET courses?

They normally involve 300 hours of study and are equivalent to two TASC ‘C’ courses. Most of the Hobart College VET courses are studied over 2 lines, usually Tuesdays and Thursdays. You can make up the full-time equivalent of 600 hours of study by adding on some TASC subjects.

Hobart College offers a wide range of VET courses. Friendly and supportive VET teachers can answer any questions you have about your choice of VET course during the enrolment process.
