Cero Systems is a USA based company with its corporate headquarters in Orem, Utah. Formed in 2009 with the sole intent of providing the best products and customer service possible, Cero has lead the LED lighting revolution through advanced electronic and mechanical engineering. The company is owned and managed by engineers that are fanatical about what they design. From the angles and shadowing of the chassis, to the aerodynamics of the heat sink, all the way down to the intricate and small details of the circuit layout, every aspect is scrutinized. There is never a shortcut taken or an item overlooked. We do not believe in good enough...only in perfection, or the constant pursuit of it. HOW DO WE DO IT ?

CERO TECHNOLOGY

We are often asked how our lights are able to be as bright and durable as they are. Most people are skeptical at first. It is not until they put a competitor’s light next to it and turn them both on that they realize that our claims are true. So how are we able to produce the brightest and most durable systems on the planet? We couple skill and experience with the most advanced software and design tools available. Below are just a few of the tools we use to design and improve every Cero component.

Every solid component design starts its life in a powerful 3D modeling program. Basic shapes are chizeled down to more complex ones as additional components are designed and integrated and functions are added. For circuit designs, layout starts in the form of a 2D schematic, then a 2D circuit is developed followed by a 3D solid model that is then joined with the 3D mechanical model. With all these parts coming together in a three-dimensional world before the first part is ever created, extremely compact and efficient systems can be developed.

Finally, a prototype light is assembled and tested in the field aboard the harshest platform around, the hard-rock mining tracked dozer. Beta units are distributed for testing in the extremes of every possible environment: high relative humidity, sub-zero freezing, dry desert, and 120+ degree ambient temperature coal mines. The test units are left in these environments for several months before being pulled off and returned to Cero’s lab. Once there, every component is examined under a stereo-microscope to ensure zero fatigue before any production begins.

Once an initial design has been created and validated, a battery of simulations are conducted using a Cero-designed 24-core supercomputer. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulations are conducted on every structural component to ensure strength in high-vibration applications, Solid Heat Transfer and Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) simulations are then conducted to optimize natural and forced convection cooling to make sure every light is able to maintain appropriate temperature levels even in high ambient temperature applications.

UNMATCHED QUALITYThe laws of physics govern the performance of an LED light just like it does everything else. Even the best design would be limited by the boundaries of thermal conductivity, mechanical strength, and resistance of materials. It is because of this that we equally great emphasis on the materials and components we use to make our products. Alloys are carefully selected and matched with others to achieve excellent heat transfer, lenses are made from hardened low-resistivity glasses and thermoplastics, and electronic components are chosen for their fast response and efficient electrical conductivity. These are the ingredients that allow Cero’s lights to break records.

Every Cero designed product contains the most efficient electrical components available. National Semiconductor processors, low-ESR X7R ceramic capacitors, high-current inductors, gold plated solid copper circuit boards, and high-conductivity dielectrics all add to the overall efficiency of the circuit, the filtration and reduction of Electro-Magnetic Interference (EMI), and the reduction of LED junction temperatures. Due to its critical nature, the entire electronic assembly is built in the USA in the heart of Silicon Valley. Every circuit assembly is inspected and tested by no less than 6 separate processes before being sent out including robotic and manual microscopic imaging.

Inside and out, everything is held together with 316 stainless steel. Chosen for both its mechanical and chemical properties, this alloy offers maximum corrosion resistance even when exposed to salt spray and sulfuric acid. Even after years of continuous exposure to cyclical loading in nasty environments, 316SS will show little to no wear and zero compromise to its mechanical properties.

Each stainless steel bracket is cut utilizing CNC controlled high-power lasers with random abrasive deburring. This eliminates stress risers and consistent dimensional tolerances so everything fits together tightly even under load.

The backbone of any Cero product, the chassis, with integrated heat sink, is CNC machined billet 6061-T6 aluminum alloy. This alloy, often referred to as Aerospace Aluminum for its broad use in aviation, is chosen for its extremely high strength and thermal conductivity. By milling this super alloy on a 4-axis CNC machine, smooth surfaces and zero draft angles are maintained allowing for efficient cooling of the heat sink surface. With the advances in CNC technology, tolerances of less than 1/1000th of an inch are consistently maintained allowing for even force distribution and IP69K sealing.

Every application is different. Some applications, such as mining, require levels of durability and reliability that would be wasted on other applications. At the same time, some applications rely heavily on lighting while others use their lights sparingly. For any application, the value of any system is a function of the cost to purchase, the cost to operate, and the performance of its duties. While an XD16 is the pinnacle of durability, performance, and reliability, it would be complete overkill for a forklift. For this reason, we offer a diverse range of systems for different applications. This will ensure that you get the greatest value out of what you buy.

To assist in the selection of an appropriate product for your application, we have created a “Duty Level” ranking structure. Extreme Duty, Heavy Duty, and Medium Duty are identified on each Cero product. A brief explanation is provided on these pages but, for more specific questions, please feel free to contact us.

The workhorse of many vehicle fleets around the world, the HD16D is the original high-vibration mining light. It was developed for quick integration and maximum improvement to OEM lights found on tracked equipment. It features many XD16 components but in an overall package that is more economical.

Second only to the mighty XD, the HD16D is able to handle extreme vibration levels thanks to its solid construction and perfectly balanced trunnion mount with integrated high frequency isolators that damp harmonics.

All HD16’s feature a non-wicking and sealed harness that can be specified to any length, allowing the electrical connection to be made remotely. This is as versatile as you can get in a durable package.

The HD16S has all the features of the HD16D except for its trunnion mount. The “S” version allows for a complete 360 degrees of tilt and rotation allowing for it to be mounted on any surface angle, even vertical ones. If you want the performance of an HD16D but need more tilt, the HD16S is exactly what you need.

The HD16S heat sink has been optimized for airflow given any mounting orientation so you don’t need to be concerned about cooling. Even if the heat sink gets covered completely, electronic thermal management will kick-in to prevent the light from getting too hot.

All HD16’s feature a non-wicking and sealed harness that can be specified to any length, allowing the electrical connection to be made remotely. This is as versatile as you can get in a durable package.

The HD32 is a high-vibration flood light for applications that see little to no air flow. It features dual-zone digital thermal management to separately monitor and cool the left and right sides independently.

With two completely independent electrical circuits, this lamp is perfectly suited for hard to reach locations that require a lot of clear light. When replacing antiquated quartz halogen lamps, drastic reductions in energy consumption can be realized.

In many cases, the HD32 can replace a 1000W filament lamp and reduce power consumption by more than 80% while offering 50% more light. It is the pinnacle of value for mid-sized applications.

The HD80 is the most reliable, powerful, and efficient LED flood light. Where productivity is critical, this lamp is extremely valuable. It features 80 LEDs with 6 control circuits, 24 protection circuits, and is easily rebuildable. Not only will it last 5-10 years in the harshest of environments, it can be completely rebuilt for a fraction of the initial purchase price.

We planned for this light to work 50+ years with minimal upkeep. You’re used to the flexibility of changing bulbs and ballasts on metal halide and sodium lamps; we’re offering the same flexibility but on a maintenance interval of five times longer.

The double trunnion bracket features 90 degrees of tilt and in the direction you need it. The chassis sits forward of the base so you can achieve 70 degrees of downward tilt without beam cutoff from the bracket.

The Utility Series of work lamps is for applications that require improved durability, longer life expectancy and greater efficiency over OEM or aftermarket incandescent and HID work lights. These lamps feature TIR optics and die-cast aluminum bodies as well as stainless steel hardware and brackets for extended use in harsh environments.

Many operations require clear identification of equipment and vehicles. This function often directly impacts safety and requires extremely reliable and clear communication of its characters. For this reason, we created the IDX display panel. This is the only display of its kind that has a hardened Pyrex® lens, dual o-ring seals, a billet aluminum chassis, and gold plated mil-spec connector.

Everything from the chassis to the electronics are designed to offer the highest level of reliability. At no point is a single mode failure possible. We even went as far as adding additional segments to the character to center the number “1” to prevent visual blending with adjacent characters.

All programming is stored in Non-Volatile Memory which will never forget what to display. We have left no room for failure.

The CR6 replaces old filament dome lights which are unreliable, underpowered, and haz-ardous. With 10 Watts of LED white light and a fully sealed enclosure, the CR6 addresses some of your biggest concerns. It even has complete brightness adjustability if you want less light.

You will never have to change a dome light bulb again nor will you have to squint your eyes to see around you.
