INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

ENGINE

Before starting the engine, the following basic points should be chec­ked:

make sure gearbox lever (6 fig. 5) is in the neutral position, otherwi­se the safety inter-k)ck device prevents engin~ from starting; P.T.O. lever must be pushed in neutral (7 fig. 7); Automatic Linkage Control Unit (ALCU) lever must be in red «FLOAT» sector; engine stop must be fully pressed in (18 fig. 3); parking brake must be applied (1 fig. 6).

Cold start

1. Fully depress accelerator lever (17 fig. 3). 2. Pull the choke button (2 fig. 16). 3. Fully depress clutch pedal (9 fig. 6). 4. Turn the starter-ignition switch (1 fig. 3) to position «2» until the engi­

ne fires (after a few seconds) and then release the key, which will automatically return to position «1 ». If, for any reason, the engine does not fire the first time after 15-20 seconds make a second attempt with both starter and engine at rest. Repeat operation not more than 3/4 times.

5. When engine has fired, gradually bring the accelerator lever back to the slow running position, release the clutch pedal and keep engine at idling speed for a few seconds.

6. Depress clutch pedal, move gearbox (6 fig. 5) and reduction gear (5 fig. 5) levers to desidered gear.

7. Depress handbrake lever (1 fig. 6), depress the accelerator slowly at the same time releasing the clutch pedal.

Any change to the safety cab is detrimental to the safety features. The operator accepts full responsibility for any changes made.

OPERATING

The tractor is equipped with thermostarter for use in very cold clima­tes.

In this case, the engine can be fired as follows:

carry out the fi rst 3 above mentioned operations; turn the starter ignition key to position «2» and keep it there until the thermostarter ignition warning light lights up (15 fig. 3), then release key, which will automatically return to position «1 »; tu rn key to position «2» then carry out operations as in above 5, 6 and 7 points.

~. For your own safety never' attempt to operate tractor or imple­.-. ments from a different position than the one of the driver's seat.

Starting with hot engine

1. Bring hand accelerator to 3/4 open. 2 .. Turn the ignition key clockwise to position 2 (position 3 for Thermo­

starter provided tractors). 3. When the engine starts, release the key which will automatically re­

turn to position 1.

Starting by towing

Use this method only in emergencies, with the following procedure: 1. Engage the highest forward gear (12 th). 2. Move the hand accelerator to the 3/4 position. 3. With the clutch pedal kept depressed, have the tractor towed until a

speed of about 9.3 m.p.h. (15 km/hour) is reached. 4. Gently engage the clutch. 5. Once the engine has started, depress the clutch pedal again, put

gear selector lever in the neutral position, release clutch pedal and let engine idle, unhitch tractor from towing vehicle.

Don't go near moving pulleys a/o cardan shafts and make sure . they have their proper guards. Loose clothing or other objects can easily be caught in moving parts.
