Conditions for success
• Tight link with one decision maker, the DSP• Communication specialist and PR exclusively
at the service of the CLR• Incentives for researchers: seed money,
priviledged access to decision makers• Incentives for decision makers: closely related
to their work and beneficial to their areas of concern
• Requires minimum time from the researchers
Centre Léa Roback Marie-France Raynault 29 mai 2006 16
Qualitative evaluation from decision makers
• Space for thought
• Importance of follow-up
• Indicators: call-backs, eagerness for future appointments, etc
Centre Léa Roback Marie-France Raynault 29 mai 2006 17
Conclusions drawn from our experience
• A multifaceted communication strategy
• A specialized PR professional instead of a research professional
• Researchers mobilized for a limited time and only to use their scientific expertise
• Decision makers need a space for reflexion and discussion with their peers
