He touts his strongest accomplishment professionally as “making the suc-cessful transition from claims adjuster to construction estimator”. Wednesday, November 18, 2015Luncheon meeting - speaker to be announced

Wednesday, December 16, 2015Holiday Luncheon party - BINGO is Back!

On the heals of a fun and enlightening Claims Conference of Northern California last month, we are looking forward to getting back to the business of the Central Coast Claims Association. We are very pleased to present Ms. Sally Noma, of the law firm of Grotefield & Hoffmann, LLP as our guest speaker for the September meeting, set for Wednesday, September 16th. Please see details on page 5 of this issue, and register to join us on our site at: www.CentralCoastClaims.org.

Ms. Noma is planning to address Subrogation issues, a topic that should be of interest to adjusters and industry vendors alike. The board decided to shake things up a bit starting with this luncheon meeting by moving the meeting date from the traditional third Thursday of the month to the third Wednesday! We have had a number of previously regular participants in our events suggest that this move would no doubt make a difference in draw, as there are typically several potentially conflicting events that happen concurrently. To further assist our effort in filling the room for these gatherings, we encourage all members to bring a guest or two. You’ll be sure to be a hit with your friends, clients and associates, whether due to the awesome food at Scott’s or the quality of the people involved in this fine organization. Insurance claims adjusters who are or become CCCA members may attend for free! So, bring your crew!Looking forward, next month is our annual Bowling Tournament! Sponsorships are available, and/or build a team and let’s BOWL!My first experience with the CCCA, actually, was at the bowling tournament in 2013. We had so much fun, and it was all the more appealing that proceeds were being donated to worthy charitable causes. Please see page 7 of this issue to learn more. Check out the web site for more, too.Step at a time, we are growing this organization once again. Come along, we’re having fun!regards,

2015 CCNC “Hot August Claims” Sizzles! The 22nd annual Claims Conference of Northern California, held back at the Hyatt Regency Downtown Sacramento, sizzled in delivering continuing education credits for insurance claims people. Over the course of two-plus days August 10-12, 2015, including an opening Monday afternoon session, attendees experienced a vibrant setting for learning, networking, and more. Special Keynote Speaker, Ulises Castel-lon, CPCU RPA, opened the main event Tuesday morning with an in-depth “Lord of the Rings-themed” look at the career path of an adjuster, and the passing of the torch to the next generation, entitled “The Ring of Power”.Three concurrent tracks of workshop ses-sions were then interspersed with general sessions, exhibitor tradeshow breaks, and a rockin’ casino night. Attendance appeared stronger than the past couple of years, with a balanced dispersion of folks throughout the vari-ous sessions. Produced each year by the joint efforts of representatives of seven (7) “Sponsoring Associations”, the CCNC has long been a stalwart resource for continuing education.
