On Site E-Newsletter Centenary Bank Reaching out to Business Communities in Masaka Through the Financial Literacy Program 4 th December 2012 The Financial Literacy Series began in 2011 when Centenary Bank in partnership with Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU) engaged in training business enterprises in five districts in Uganda namely; Lira, Arua, Mbale, Mbarara and Kampala with at total of 1,237 business entrepreneurs trained. In 2012, the partnership grew; Agribusiness Initiative Trust (aBi Trust) joined the team and a total of 10 districts have benefited from the training for Phase II. The trainings are part of Centenary Bank`s Corporate Social Responsibility Program. From 4 th -5 th December 2012 the Financial Literacy Training is taking place in Masaka at Maria Flo Hotel with an attendance of over 220 participants. Participants of the Financial Literacy Training Program - Masaka 4 th - 5 th December 2012 He noted that the training was relevant for all business ventures, i.e. trading, farming and others. He also encouraged farmers to be dynamic in attending such trainings because it would motivate them to engage in commercial farming which is the future of the agricultural sector in Uganda. He expressed his gratitude to Centenary Bank and Private Sector Foundation Uganda for bringing the Financial Literacy Training Program to Masaka and noted that the training would improve the lives of all the participants and contribute to the economic development of the district in the long run.
