Cell notes for 20.2.11 Worship through Service On Sunday our sermon reminded us that serving the Lord is part of our Worship. We looked how when we offer our bodies as living sacrifices to Lord, Holy acceptable, God is pleased. God wants us to serve him and gives us Gifts to help us in that service. God has given everyone gifts to use for the building up of the Kingdom. The main thing about Gods gifts are that they are supposed to be used and not hidden away in a draw like some of the human gifts/presents we give each other. We learned that in Gods Kingdom there is plenty of work but relatively few people volunteering to do the work. We explored the many things that prevent us from serving the Lord. Sometimes we are simply ‘too busy doing other things’, other times we prioritise our own pleasure above serving. Other times we are prevented by fear, too afraid to step up to plate to serve. We explored ways of overcoming our fears to service such as the renewing of our minds through scripture, and changing our perspective or approach to service. We were encouraged to join cells as this would help us to start the journey of serving. Those already in cells were asked to use their cell to explore their spiritual gifts more within the safe cell environment. Read Psalm Chapter 24 and Romans Chapter 12 1. What’s the best or worst present you’ve ever been given and why ? 2. What is your gift from God ? 3. Have you ever shied away from using your gift and why ? 4. Worship through Service

On Sunday our sermon reminded us that serving the Lord is part of our Worship.
