Julia, a Human Re- sources Consultant, is the daughter of Matt and Fay Dwyer of ‘Daisy Park’ Bogan Gate. Caine, a deckhand, is the son of Colin Mathias and Sue Halvorsen of Newcastle. ‘Daisy Park’ was cho- sen for its history with the bride’s family, with her great grandfather, the late William Dwyer drawing the block in a ballot in 1897. The wedding and re- ception were the first on the farm in its 115 years with the Dwyer family. Celebrant Rhonda Keane presided over the ceremony which saw Julia exchange vows in a Maggie Sottero gown from Sydney. The gown featured Gossamer Chiffon with a one-shoulder strap which transitioned into a double back strap. Beaded embellish- ments accented the side waist and shoulder. Julia was assisted by her sister and maid of ho- nour Jacqui Dwyer, and her school friends and bridesmaids Melissa West and Rearne Clarke. The bridesmaids wore teal satin strapless sweet- heart dresses with a teal chiffon overlay with satin ribbon. The bride and brides- maids designed the dresses which were made in Cowra. The flowers were a special feature of the day, having been brought down from Newcastle by Lauren, a friend of the bride. Lauren not only cre- ated the bride and brides- maids bouquets, but also table centres for each table. Caine was assisted by his three friends Keith Hunter, Dale Hourihan and Nathan Hollingsworth who all played a role in the wed- ding. Keith was responsible for the rings and stood beside Caine during the wedding ceremony. Nathan witnessed the marriage certificate and Dale spoke on behalf of the groomsmen during the reception. The men wore self- striped two-piece suits with the jacket featuring a contrast lapel. The groom also wore a vest. Between the ceremony and reception guests en- joyed musical entertain- ment by Celia and Emily Pavey. The reception was held in a marquee in a paddock at ‘Daisy Park’ on a patch of grass the size of a football field, which was sown, watered and mown by the bride’s father especially for the wedding day. Catering was by Jo Robson of Canowindra. The wedding cake, made by Lin Anderson of the Forbes Party Favours and Planning, was a three-tiered caramel, chocolate and white chocolate mud cake adorned with white icing and featured flowers on the top. Entertainment at the reception was by Risky Business. A highlight of the evening was the dance by Julia and her father to the song ‘A night at Daisy Park’ by Wongawilli which was written about sing alongs held on the farm many years ago. Guests travelled to the wedding from Bali, Sin- gapore, around NSW and QLD to attend the wed- ding. The couple honey- mooned in Koh Samui, Thailand. Wedding at retreat Ecologist Amy Maree Currey wed animal management ranger Brent Alan Evans at 4pm on Wednesday, November 14, 2013 at Tumbling Waters Retreat, Stanwell Tops. Amy, the daughter of Brian and Maree Cur- rey of Forbes chose a one strap luxurious full- length satin A-line gown which curved softly around the hand beaded jewelled neckline. A feature of the gown was the directionally pleated bodice with side hand beaded jewels. The asymmetrically dropped waistline spilled into the side tiered draped skirt with chapel length train. Completing the ensemble was a fingertip veil with pearl droplets around the edge. Jewellery consisted of a pair of pearl teardrop earrings given to the bride by her par- ents and her great grandmother’s engagement ring which also acted as ‘something borrowed’. Amy was supported by her best friend and bridesmaid Monqiue Heitzman who wore a floor length black satin gown featuring a one- should strap adorned with diamontes. The bride carried a tear drop bouquet of pur- ple and cream tulips tied with the ribbon from Amy’s grandmother’s wedding bouquet. Bridesmaid Monique carried purple and or- ange tulips in a posy. Brent, the son of Greg and Leonie Evans of Temora, was accompanied by his best friend and best man Dean Douglas. A black tuxedo was worn by Brent while Dean work a black suit with an aubergine tie and black vest. The groom’s nieces Grace and Olivia Lisle completed the bridal party. Amy travelled to and from the wedding in an XY Ford Fairmont which was restored by her father and brother Adam for her special day. Wedding music was supplied by violinists Grace Duo. The wedding cake was created by Anne Maree Molloy of Wollongong and featured black and purple pinstripes with purple roses on the top. Photos of the day were captured by Janine Kaye.
