LIFE BEGINS AT CONCEPTION
In order to get a recorded vote that will put every Congress-man on record, there is a Life at Conception Act seeking co-sponsors in our U.S. Congress. Let’s ask our elected Congressmen to be co-sponsors, hold their feet to the fire and put an end to the scourge of legal abortions.
By defining life as beginning at the moment of conception, this bill is designed to legislatively overturn Roe v Wade.
Even the Supreme Court admitted that once the person-hood of the unborn is established the so-called right to abort will “collapse”.
So let’s call our elected officials that represent us in D.C. and ask them to support this bill. A Life at Conception Act is the most feasible way to overturn Roe v Wade and end 46 years of abortion-on-demand in our country.
Babies are being slaughtered right in our own backyards, (and in Louisiana that is over 9,000 a year). That totals over 414,000 since 1973 and those almost 1/2-million babies would be having babies today. So, we have destroyed over a million new lives in Louisiana (a third of our population).
We will continue to fight with everything we’ve got and provide assistance for the mothers and protect them from a life-long physical and spiritual wound…

Through Project HOPE, women are supported in their efforts to avoid abortion, improve their health and that of their unborn child.

Innovative ways of teaching TOB to our clients have begun! In 2019, 8 different Level 1 classes reached over 100 people. (5 sessions hosted at The DesOrmeaux Foundation). Abbreviated presentations were given to a variety of interested groups including Theresians, ACTS retreatants and the Kiwanis Club of Lafayette!!

Student Service & Support Community Cares
Our Lady of Wisdom’s “Ragin Cajun Catholics” College Students painted our handicap ramp following a 2-day pressure washing job by volunteer Billy Pecoraro.
Acadiana Republican Women collect & deliver donations from members.
Carencro Catholic Students, Sts. Leo-Seton Students & Academy of Sacred Heart Students raise funds, volunteer their time & learn the value of community service with a Service Fair.
Homeschool Families volunteer to weed & mulch the flower beds, help prepare for our Baby Bottle Fundraisers and paint our wooden fence surrounding our campus.
Window washing by Samsung Employees for their Day of Service.

Featuring Guest Speaker Dustin Bertrand of God Made Self Driven Ministries Dynamic Speaker, Youth Minister, Evangelist and now Published Author: “The First Thirty”, an inspirational account of his journey as he battled a multitude of life challenges. He has a degree in psychology & a minor in criminal justice and is currently working on his Masters in Theology & Christian Ministry at Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio. Dustin’s been evangelizing for 6 years and created a ministry called God Made Self Driven. He has impacted lives by challenging people to be proactive in their faith and embrace God’s plan for them. He gives us this quote to contemplate: “Is the concept ‘you learn what you live’ your cemented destiny or can your life experiences be the catalyst for a new way to live?”

After a record number of baby bottles being distributed at our existing churches, we had an elementary school take up the challenge and host a Baby Bottle Campaign and raised nearly $4500! As the newly appointed Manager, I am pleased to report that it’s been busy at The Women’s Center. This quarter we’ve gained over 200 new clients, and of those, 25 were abortion-vulnerable.
Our trained consultants, Amber, Emma, Balinda, Nicole and Paula, offer each pregnant mother com-
passion and guidance in a private setting, ensuring that all of their needs are met. Through their ministering, resources, and referrals, over 90% abortion-vulnerable mothers choose life.
Since the inception of our "Earn While You Learn” Program in May, on average, 130 clients participate in the program each month. The client feedback has been extremely positive. Our moms, as well as dads, appreciate the opportunity to gain knowledge on pregnancy related topics, as well as covering parenting and life-skills material that will help them long after their babies are born.
