Lord, make me an instrument of your peace, Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy;
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Beloved Parish Family In Jesus Our Lord,
The big month of October takes in 2 very meaningful
devotions.
1) The devotion to the Holy Rosary for us
Catholics and some non- Catholics, gets much
attention during this month of October. In
addition to the usual daily prayer of the Rosary,
many churches, holy places and prayer groups
will include processions and special gatherings
for the Rosary prayer. In our time there is a lot
we need to pray for and the Rosary is the best
prayer partner for sure. And so try to go out of
your way a little bit and join in with the daily
rosary and visit some of these extra rosary
events.
You may know that in 1917 our Blessed Mother
taught the 3 shepherd children a special prayer which
She asked to be recited at the end of each decade. This
prayer is called the Fatima Prayer and it goes like this
– O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the
fires of hell, and lead all souls to Heaven, especially
those in most need of Thy mercy. The words of this
prayer were given to us by Our Lady of Fatima.
2) Also the month of October is called Right to
Life Month. This cause is strongly promoted by
numerous groups of people including
Christians and non- Christians. It is well
accepted that all forms of life from the very
moment of conception in the Mother’s womb
until the final breath of any person of any age
has a Right to Life. A support group called
Right to Life of Northeast Ohio works over
time to teach and provide materials to people of
all ages about the mission to value life. The
messages are very good and many do get it
thanks be to God. Still, however there are many
who do not get it and so the mission goes on so
everyone can understand and make the
difference.
In their newsletter the Right to Life group printed a
quote from Pastor Niemoller which strongly
encourages everyone to get involved in the campaign
for life while we still can and before worse measures
are upon us. If we cannot commit to the value of life
for some, it can happen that there could be a life issue,
some kind of life threat for many of us. All good
people need to know what is right from wrong and they
need to do the right thing for the mission of Right to
Life. The quote for the newsletter for September 25,
2014 is: “First they came for the socialists, and I did
not speak out ---because I was not a socialist. Then
they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak
out ---because I was not a trade unionist. Then they
came for the Jews, and I did not speak out---because
I was not a Jew. Then they came for me ---and there
was no one lift to speak for me.”
The entire month of October is a good time for all of
us to learn and speak out in defense of the life issues
and it is a good time to pray the Holy Rosary for the
intentions of a greater love and respect for life in all its
stages.

"COMMUNITY CASH BACK"
The 2014-2015 Acme "Community Cash Back"
program begins September 18, 2014 and runs
through February 4, 2015 allowing non-profit
organizations to earn 5% CASH BACK on all
purchases of Acme Fresh Market Store Brands, so
let’s get ready to SAVE!! When you buy Acme
brand products, it accumulates cash back for your
organization. We're asking that all parishioners
save their receipts and bring them to church, as our
parish is going to participate in this promotion. All
you have to do is buy Acme brands and bring your
receipts to church. We will have a box in the foyer,
just drop the receipts in the box. Even if you’re not
sure if what you bought is an Acme brand, drop
your receipts in the box in the foyer and we will go
through them for you. Thank you in advance for
your help.
