Featured Project CDOT Region 1 Slope Stabilization on I-70 in Clear Creek This design-bid-build project involves stabilization of the hillside along Clear Creek Frontage Road. It w ill include a retaining w all founded on drilled caissons, new sub- grade and HMA paving, guardrail, and temporary traffic control. CDOT and RFTA Set Overall Annual DBEGoals

CDOT has proposed an overall annual Disadvantaged Business Enterprise

(DBE) goal of 12.46% for projects funded by the Federal Highw ay

Administration (FHWA) during Federal Fiscal Years (FFY) 2016-2018. This

is a 2.21% increase over CDOT's prior overall goal for FFY 2013 - 2015.

conclusions resulting in the proposed goal.

Additionally, the Roaring Fork Transit Authority (RFTA) has proposed an

overall annual DBE goal of 3.00% for projects funded by the Federal Transit

Administration (FTA) during Federal Fiscal Years 2016-2018. This is a 2%

increase over their DBE goal for FFY 2013-2015. Click here to read the

2015 to RFTA's DBE Liaison Off icer, Edna Adeh, at [email protected] .

Statement of Qualifications Submittedby Five Teams for the I-70 East Project

CDOT received Statement of Qualif ications (SOQ) from f ive teams of

combined construction and engineering f irms, operators, and equity

investors. An SOQ is a summary of a team's experience in the industry and

w ith similar projects that helps CDOT begin the process of choosing the

most qualif ied team for the project. The teams consist of :

the engineering f irm HDR broke ground on the reconstruction of I-25

betw een City Center Drive (1st Street) and Ilex Street.

The $69 million project consists of :

Constructing new bridges on I-25 over D Street, the Union Pacif ic

Railroad, BNSF Railroad, and Gruma Street and replacing tw o

structurally-def icient bridges, built in 1959, w hich cross over Ilex

and Bennett streets and railroad tracks.

Rehabilitating six bridges on I-25 northbound over U.S. 50 Business,

northbound and southbound over Indiana Avenue, U.S. 50 Business

over the Arkansas River, and over I-25 on Northern and Mesa

avenues.

Building the new D Street (replacing Ilex Street).

Installing new utilities, lighting and permanent w ater quality ponds.

Rebuilding 1st Street (City Center Drive) on and off ramps.

Constructing new retaining and sound w alls, sidew alks, curbs and

gutters.

Enhancing area aesthetics and landscaping.
