FlangesDiaphragm valves PN16 with BS Face To Face are also available with ASME flanges.

Support springAll PN16 diaphragm valves and PN10 Weir-type diaphragm valves from DN 65 upwards are equipped with a stainless steel spring between diaphragm and compressor. This spring supports the full surface area of the diaphragm under the X-shaped compressor, dividing the mechanical load evenly. This gives the diaphragm a longer service life and enables these diaphragm valves to be used up to maximum rated temperature at the full pressure rating.

Encapsulated diaphragm Weir type diaphragm valves PN16 are executed with an enclosed diaphragm.The raised edge of the diaphragm is enclosed in a chamber, insulating mechanical forces and making distortion of the diaphragm impossible. The sealing force is consistent, no leakage to the outside can occur. Weir type diaphragm valves with enclosed diaphragm are maintenance-free, the bolts of the bonnet do not need to be retightened.

Type Available as Weir type with ( PN16) or without ( PN10) enclosed diaphragm or as full bore type ( PN10).

General informationDiaphragm valves are suitable for many industrial applications, in particular for water and chemical processes.With just two "wetted" parts and soft sealing, diaphragm valves are 100% leak tight.Furthermore, the diaphragm valves with full bore are extremely suitable for abrasive media.

In addition, Econosto diaphragm valves are available with the following specific features:

Enclosed diaphragmDiaphragms manufactured from an elastomer can become stretched during opening and closing. These forces can cause apermanent compression of the elastomer. This causes a reduction in volume in the diaphragm itself, with the result thattraditional diaphragm valves can lose their sealing effectiveness in time, and can even start to leak.Weir-type diaphragm valves with enclosed diaphragm are fully maintenance free.Enclosing the raised edge of the diaphragm in a chamber insulates mechanical forces, makes distortion of the diaphragmimpossible and keeps sealing capacity consistent.

Diaphragm support springAt high operating pressures, the mechanical load on the diaphragm is very high. This may shorten service life and the valvemay not be used at high temperatures at maximum rated pressure.Various types of diaphragm valve are standard equipped with a support spring between diaphragm and compressor. Thisspring supports the full surface area of the diaphragm, dividing the mechanical load evenly.
