Harmony Day By Ned Harris

On Tuesday 19th May 2019 we celebrated Harmony Day. We did activities all throughout the class-

rooms. There were 6 different cultures represented

Kindergarten = Mrs Clark celebrated Mexican culture. We made ‘God’s Eyes’ out of wool and pad-

dle pop sticks.

Year 1 = Mrs Hardy did ‘South African Drum Beat’, now that was loud but fun.

Year 2-3= Mrs Lothian taught us about Chinese culture and we did the year we were born, so say

you were born in 2007 you would be a pig, so yes I am a pig. We also learnt what they do over

New Year.

Year 4-5= With Mrs Montgomerie we learnt about New Zealand Maori culture, we got to paint a

paper plate of the silver fern.

Year 5-6= Mrs Lyons did Aboriginal paintings with little sticks and coloured in hands and stuck

them on the door.

The library= Mr Turtle showed us some Japanese origami, we made a little jumping frog, some of

the older students had to help some little ones.

Harmony day was fun every one enjoyed it including the sausage sizzle for lunch, well, I had fun.

Japanese Incursion

By Hunter Roberts

On Monday 18th April students from K to 9 went to the Japanese Story Telling incursion at our school

hall.

Jarrod Hoare came from Adelaide and told us about the different types of acting they do in Japan.

Two of them he told us about were Rakugo- One person storytelling and Kyogen- Comic drama.

4/5/6 went in the morning and Year 7 and Year 9 Drama went in between Recess and Lunch then

Kindergarten to Year 3 went in the afternoon.

Everyone had fun and he was very funny too and he did one called I DON’T WON’T TO GO TO

SCHOOL TODAY MUM and everyone liked it because it was really funny.

Jarrod ‘’MUM DO I HAVE TO GO TO SCHOOL TODAY?” “MUM I HAVE A HEADACHE.’’

Jarrod as mum ‘’YOU HAVE TO GO TO SCHOOL BECAUSE YOU ARE THE SCHOOL PRINCIPAL.’’

Netball Gala Day On Friday the 22nd of March, 10 Coly girls attended the Griffith Zone PSSA Gala Day and Trials.

Everyone play very well. The Coly Girls played 4 games and won them all.
