unhappiness and took me to a prayerful Christian friend, who
prayed for me and encouraged me using verses from the Bible. I
saw a change in my life and God helped me to come out of all the
depression and discouragement.
I realised that God is by my side and no matter what, He will lead me
and help me. I went back to the village and this time I was surprised
at the positive response I received. The strength of my class grew
and my work got recognition through several awards.
Today I am recognized as a pioneer and a leader in the
community. This is a sea change from the early days of teaching
under the tree and being opposed tooth and nail.
How did your life change after prayer?
In 2014 I was nominated for the Indian Excellence Award. Followed
by the Bharat Gaurav Award in 2015 and the Naari Shakti Award in
2016.

How did you cope with the transition from big city life to
village life after marriage?
What were the challenges of teaching in the village?
Did the constant opposition from people affect you?
I was born and brought up in a city but marriage took me to a a
village. When I saw the children of the village fritter away their life
as beggars, rag pickers and farm labour my heart went out to them.
I decided to put my education to good use and began to teach a
handful of children in the village.
I started to teach under a tree due to lack of resources but it wasn't
easy and people started to resent me as the income generated by
their children through menial work stopped.
Instead of support, I started getting criticism and I got depressed
and began to lose hope. My father-in-law saw my descent into

In the villages of Kotdwar, where Sumaiya lived, dusk invariably brought power cuts. There were even children who lived in houses with no electric connections at all. Completing homework after school was a nightmare for Sumaiya. When CBN Foundation partners gave the gift of solar lamps to Sumaiya and her classmates the struggle really eased up for the family being raised by a single mother.

HEALTH TIPS
Call 0124-4286777 and join our agents in prayer. Choose from six languages
EXPERIENCE THE POWER OF PRAYER RIGHT NOW!
1. Positive attitude. Optimism increases good health. Start with positive self-talk: “I can handle this.” Try to avoid criticizing yourself!
2. Care for hands and feet. Exfoliate and then, before bed, mix avocado oil and primrose oil in equal parts, apply a few drops to hands and feet, cover with gloves and socks, and go to sleep.
3. Detox for a day and drink tea! Rooibos (red tea). This South African tea has collagen-building copper, as well as vitamin C and other antioxidants.
4. Whiten your teeth. Try whitening strips while reading a book before you doze off.
5. Sleep. Get at least eight hours of sleep. Try to go to bed before 10 p.m.
6. Throw on another pillow. Fifteen
minutes before rising from bed in the morning, place an extra pillow under your head to de-puff your eyes.
7. Cut down on salt. Salt makes you retain water.
8. Pray. Thank God for everything before bed and before you get up. Be grateful!
TIPS TO LOOK YOUNGER IN 24 HOURS
9. Be joyful. A happy person looks younger because a smile sheds years.
10. Plump away your wrinkles. Drink eight to ten glasses of water with lemon a day. Your skin will be more hydrated, the appearance of wrinkles less pronounced and the lemons will help with digestion.
11. Avoid sugar. It dries out your skin and promotes wrinkles. Always consult a physician before implementing any new health regimen.

At the new job, he met a chef, who came to know of Subhash's
addictions and invited him for a prayer meeting. Subhash recalls,
“When I was at the prayer gathering, I started crying. I had not
cried that way even when my mother had died.” The
Chef told him, it was the work of God and handed him a
guitar and asked him to learn to play to take his mind
off his addictions. Subhash was surprised as he had
never come anywhere close to a musical instrument.
Gradually Subhash overcame his addiction and felt
completely renewed. He got a good job at a five star hotel. After a
professional music course, he started to teach children music.
Today, Subhash is a successful music tutor. When he looks back, he
knows the turning point was that message he got while watching
Ek Nayee Zindagi. A door of faith opened in his otherwise
devastated life.
Subhash Dey lost his mother in a fire-accident. Reeling under the
grief, he found solace in drugs and alcohol and before he knew it,
he was deeply addicted.
One day he heard about a good job opening
at the cafeteria of an MNC company but he
was rejected for lack of credentials. A few
days later, while flipping channels on TV he
stumbled on the show, Ek Nayee Zindagi.
Subhash heard the host saying, “if you want
a breakthrough in your life in any situation and are seeking a
miracle today then pray with us”. Desperate, Subhash thought to
himself, why not try this? Subhash then prayed with sincerity,
hoping for a miracle. To his surprise, the very next day, he got a call
from the MNC and he cracked the interview and got the job with a
better salary. The seed of faith was planted in his life.
