The OODA Loop is a model describing the recurring decision making process. It states; that all human behavior could be described as a continuous, interactive process of Observation, Orientation, Decision, and Action - OODA Loop.
When responding to a critical incident remember:
Observe- the entire scene; what do I see, hear, smell, taste, feel; what are my surroundings?
Orient- what training, experience, or knowledge do I have to resolve the incident?
Decide- my decision is based on all the information I have at the time, my training/experience/knowledge.
Act- I take action to resolve the incident.
Loop - did my actions resolve the incident, if they did not, I go through the OODA Loop process until the incident is resolved.
